The situation I will draw basic picture and then ask my question
#1 is the figure with trample 2-5 are opposing figures
1 2 3 4 5
So if you had a rider with Charge charge Could you Charge to figure 5 trampling 2,3,4 resolve the first attack then charge to figure 2 trampling 4,3 and resolve the second attack?
This is a simplfied example but could this be done??
No, you cannot use mounted charge and trample together because both require you to give it an action and you cannot give a figure two actions in a turn (exception mc/mb and Magestone Trance). Trample requires you to give your cavalry unit a move action while mounted charge is a close combat action. :)
Hey Dragon, could you please explain how your exceptiong works? I understand that Magestone Trance allows the orc unit to receive a second action in the same round but hen part of a cavalry unit, the rider's subfaction symbol is ignored. Which means that it can't use any sub-fac abilities.
He doesn't mean that the calvary unit is taking 2 actions because of the Magestone Trance, he means that those are the 2 exceptions. He probably should've typed mc/mb or Magestone Trance.
Back to trample, too bad you have to move in a staight line, huh?
As a cavalry unit, you can use the mounted bound/charge proficiencies. When using MB/MC, you give the unit a ranged/close combat action and it also allows you to use a single special ability that requires a ranged/close combat action. Example, mounted charge with Weapon Master or mounted bound with Mage Blast. :)
Trample is a proficiency that is exclusive to cavalry units and the rules for it are in the Dark Riders rulebook. The way you use it is to give cavalry unit (a mount with a rider) a move action but you can't Doubletime. Then you move in a straight line through the front arc. Every figure whose base you cross takes one point of damage.
Cavalry units have about 5 proficiencies that only they can use. They are all specified in the dark riders rulebook.
