Hey! I've always kept my eyes peeled for titianic orc/elf battles have never come across any. A friend of mine and myself have been planning one for just under a year, and last week we got it started. i felt the need to share this with people who care. its a traditional conquest battle, featuring about 900 orcs against an elven stronghold of some 500.

Report: At 10 hours of combat, 165 already lay dead. (114 elves and 51 orcs)
Of either sides' front line, only a single surviver remains.
The orcs have captured the first gate of three.
The entire 10 hours of combat has taken place in about a 3ft-3ft square.

ooookay. To hold our interests and get some discussion flowing, we need:

Army lists for both sides

pictures, if you took any(no worries if you did not)

a bit more detail than "we played for 10 hours and a bunch of guys died"

description of what the elven strong hold looked like.... you can use ascii art if you want ,i.e.

Of course the orc swarm will win but like Dando said what other info are you going to give? Pics, battle report maybe in story form etc.... I would think however the elves should have killed more as the orcs are all sitting ducks as they make it to the walls! Got to be plenty of elves with wand and bow attacking from the top. How many points did each of you use? What key figures are in the battle?

Are you playing unrestricted or restricted?

If restricted, you're probably having issues finding elves with bows then, stupid WK.

Anyway we all want to hear more, sounds like a lot of fun.

yea, i was just giving a heads up. we should be playing again this weekend, and monday i will have a much more detailed report, i've bearly had two five minute periods of free time to stick end to end this whole week.

It looks like so far elvish steel has been deadly. :p However, at a 2 to 1 points advantage, the orcs should win, easily.
Hold the fort boys!(and girls!) If you die, die with your boots on and give them H###!!!!!

Sounds like LOTR...of course we all know how that ended...the orcs lose...no need for the battle report, I've already watched the movie.

Actually, if you want to recreate the battle for helms deep you need 10,000 points worth of orcs vs 1500 points of elves and the elves need 750 points of those worthless AE nons from the first 2.0 set to simulate the ineffectiveness of the humans(mostly).

what about the riders of rohan or what ever they are called they saved the day, and gandalf is a human,
all though I will admit AE did get some bad nons.

however this is not a LOTR thread (or forum) and I wnat to know how the battle actually turns out, and despite what I just said I want the eleves to win. (I like them better then orcs)

I think some pictures would be most appreciated. I'd just like to see someone set up this much MK muscle on a table.
