Eagles' Wing says "Give the caster a move action; it must be at ground level. Select up to two target friendly figures—that have not already been given an action this turn—in base contact with the caster. The targets move at ground level with the caster and must end the move in base contact with the caster. At the end of the move, give a target an action token if it has zero or one action token; each target may be given an action this turn. ". Now, if U use Magestone Trance to cast it again, does that mean that the 2 targets you're carrying get a 2nd token and become pushed?? Isnt there a rule against givin a figure 2 action tokens in a turn or am I just nuts?
i believe that even with magestone trance, you can still only cast eagle's wing once because all sorceries require them to be placed at the bottom of the spell book unless otherwise noted. Since the spell is now at the bottom, there is no way to get it back to the top and use it because browsing and casting would be 2 more actions.
Now if you had two eagle wing spells in your spell book one after another, then I would think you could cast a second eagle's wing if it happen to be the next sorcery in the spell book cycle.
In this sense, the two target figures would move twice and recieve 2 tokens and a push damage for the second movement.
remember spells, relics etc supercede regular rule books rules unless noted in the FAQ.
While a sorcery does require you to place it at the bottom of the stack you can then choose it as the new book marked spell. So unless Eagle's Wing requires you to place it face up (and thus be browsed for) then you can use it twice.
Yes, you can do this. Yes, the 'winged' warriors would get two tokens. However, they would not receive pushing damage. A figure given an action that receives a second token takes pushing damage. Warriors carried by this spell are not being given an action.
but being given a second token is considered to be pushed, causing the damage. Note that Frostlance specifically notes that no pushing damage occurs from the two tokens being placed on the target.
Frostlance is just clarifying. Here's the pushing damage rule from pg. 7 of the rulebook (emphasis mine):
Quote
Pushing If you give an action to a warrior that causes it to be given a second action token, that warrior is dealt 1 pushing damage after it resolves the action.
You'll find the same in the glossary definition. I'm not positive the designers intended to put that loophole in there, but who am I to second guess them?
There are so many ways to get a second token without an action now, it's silly:
Special Abilities - Strong Flier, Immobilize and Magic Freeze.
Relics - Frost Lance, Gutripper, Gorgon's Blade, Smoke, Stick Horse and Sunfire Javelin.
Spells - Eagle's Wing, Animate Wild and Wyrm Strike.
Out of all that, only three of them deal pushing damage when the second token is given, and only because they specify. The three are Immobilize, Magic Freeze and Smoke.
