the jist of the game is i could not hit at all, i never hit once while Black Thorn was alive!! after she died i hit 8's and 9's(which was good because every one was so hurt that is what they needed)and i tried to kill his Vamp Formation with them ,But i kept missing and after Black thorn died everyone els had except for my2x**Khamsin Troopers*Khamsin Trooper
*Khamsin Artillerist**Khamsin Artillerist formation because he thought they did not matter.they didn't. so i started attacking his archers i needed an eight to hit,i missed the first three times,but i hit the fourth for a damage of two.than alment lan came and shot two of them for two clics,then his archers hit for six clicks to kill my **Khamsin Artillerist then i missed again and again and pretty much went down hill from there,LOL,and i died. I thought this army was going to do real good! but it didnt so that is it , the really funny part is that i could not kill them because they get ghost form!!!!!!! (and it was probably a little funnier because it was midnight)

this was beetween me and Narwagret and he won(duh) but we had alot of fun.we laughed all the next day!This was just a skirmish compared to the 2000 pointer we are going to play the 19th.
Wlecome to the club. I always lose. Mostly because i don't have any Solonavi or new draconum uniques. Hopefully that'll change since tomorrow my enemy's trix will be up against crox with relic breaker for a whopping 14 attack.
i have won several games against opponents using big point figs with stuff, when I didn't have a single unique in my army. Its all about strategy, tacitics, and luck =)
for people who roll badly...auto-damage!! great against high defense also...trample, ram, venom, Inferno...circle of blood...Caeron Luckblade if you roll really really bad, hehehe..
cast a few Hunter's Luck...lots of ways around "bad luck"
and if you can't hit cuz your opponent loads up on really high defense Relics, just use Maximillion with Relic Breaker..and smash his relics!!!
My historically pitiful rolling ahs me planning on it. every singlke army I build takes that into consideration. Perhaps you should begin planning that way as well. I know I'm not as upset after another loss if I go in expecting to roll poorly. i won't roll poorly all the time, I do get some good ones in. (The day Varatrix ran from the ***Cloud Warrior is my favorite).
I hardly ever put my figures into a situation where they need more than a six to hit. Needing sevens (even though they are the most rolled number) and eights is setting yourself up for a loss. Your army wasn't very good because there wasn't anyone great at anything. If you have a lot of range, you have to have a figure that can do a fair amount of melee damage. Your highest melee attack being a 10, especially against Veratrix wasn't good. Look at the army that won Worlds, that's about as swiss as it comes.
when i play the 2k game i will have three **Steam Maulers and Blackwyn with an attack of thirteen ,and others i dont want to take the yime listing,so that takes care of my big hitter problem But my biggest thing is HEX, i love it .but in order to play a BPR pure army i have to get a few ***apprentice Forgers Will someone go tomy thread and trade them to me!

This is good advice. In fact, your odds of hitting needing a 6 are 72% which is pretty good. When you need a 7, this drops to 58%, and for an 8 it is 42%. Above that, the odds are really stacked against you.
Pitiful throwing? I casted a Ward of Light(which ends if i throw a 2-3 with 2 dices). Opponents turn: i throw a 3! My turn i cast another one. His turn my thowing is ok, but on my turn i threw a 2!!!
well... its not so much as simply winning or losing... it is about having fun. But it's fairly accurate that you would need something with a high attack value (whether ranged or close combat) so that you would be able to weaken a unique enough to finish it off with support.
Jody, if i had a choice for the conquest army, i would field Prince warden with threadcutter so you have a 14 attack figure. Don't forget the potential defend from the bpr warbird or the submerged ability of the bpr salamander.
I would also field a stone of scrying so the steam maulers can simply attack with impunity.
The khamsin surgeons also pack a punch for healers, being able to deal 3 or 4 damage at close combat.
maybe the main rule is make every point count. if your approach is making a swiss army, it may help if each figure you field is already a swiss piece, meaning it can have multiple uses.
The standard dwarven runelord is one, which has tinker and stormfire, in addition to the spellbreach ability. He will be able to heal the maulers and also dish out damage both from range and close combat. The same is true for the tough dwarven forgemage, who can heal 4 clicks at a 10 attack rating. Not bad for a bunch of healing dwarves!!!
ognib, those artillerists and the khamsin soldiers had fairly high attacks when CoK when still active before i decapitated Black Thorn(figuritivly speaking). joby correct me if im wrong but i believe the artillerists had a 10. although alment lan did hit two in that formation for 2 damage. even so, an extremely fun game to play even though i was slaughtering him almost unopposed. i think it still would have been fun if the sides were reversed.
