Okay...i'm kinda getting tired of seeing all these Orc Armies (no offense)...and i know the Dracs are really tough to build pure...so, let's just come up with low point (fat chance) base figures to build an army around...here are a few to start out with...
Revered Mystic (S) - 92 pts.
Firesheild - 21 pts.
Scary assasin with his 180 degree arc, there is no shooting past this guy...place a meaty shooter with Stone of Scrying behind him and he is the new wall...
Drakor - 110 pts.
Threadcutter - 25 pts.
Anti-swarm anyone? with all the Call Familiars goind around, Drakor can keep taking them out with his Venom...stack it with Cobra's Bite...ouch...
Dragon's Gate
Crazy Domain giving all Dracs Frenzy, Terrify and Vampirism...in an all Drac Army you should have enough figures with Frenzy so you wouldn't have to push...pile in all you Feral Whelps when playing this...you can fit 12 weak or 9 standard or 8 tough...
other Honorable Mentions in my book are...
Chroma + Starsheild or Cloak of the Dervish
Vithzerai + Stone of Scrying
Revered Mystic + Book of Lightning
I agree with ognib, Drakor with Threadcutter is not a very good combo, IMO. Pike with Threadcutter is much better. Another good combo with Pike is stick a Frostlance on her, and give her venom with Cloak of Vipers or Cobra's Bite. Pathis with Pain is another combo I like, sure its as expensive as Vextha, but I like it.
Well, i combined him with Arjen Lightbringer Lvl. 4 with his forced march and healing and Tough Magna Champion with his Defend and Leadership (1200 pts. pure drac conquest)...Formation Total 278 pts (who says Dracs are cheap?)...but the Venom combined with Threadcutter would just work like a field wipe sweep of swarms...1 damage during Command Phase due to Venom then he attacks every turn due to Magna Champs Leadership...16 max attack (13 base + 3 from Threadcutter) with Thunderblow and a 5 Max Damage...to all figures with the same name...for swarms, that would usually take them down to the point where they are useless...6 damage kills a rider...imagine if he has Cobra's Bite enchanting him?...that's an additional 1 Venom Damage...so, let's say the Dice gods are really mad at you and you miss with the 16 attack...you have still done 2 damage during your command phase...make sense?
Well, if you want to go autodamage crazy, how about Drakor with Inferno and Cloak of Vipers. Enchant him with cobra's bite. Now you have a figure whom not only can duke it out in melee, but gives extreme damage to figures basing him. A terror for anyone to face. Thanks to Inferno he can even put the hurt on figures who have toughness, which is the bane of autodamage.
I've always liked Drakor w/Galeshi Sunsword. It's great cause not even stone of scrying can get around the Sunsword.
Vithzerai w/(any spellbook) and a couple Arc Lightnings, with Vithzerai's high attack value, he's sure to get at least three figures.
Draconum Strategy? Isn't that a bit of an oxymoron? There is no strategy required to win with the Draconum. All their pieces rock. Grab uber-powerful unique x, fit with broken Drac relic y, add in Drac domain z and school your opponent like a shaved monkey.
Yeah, but that's very expensive... Well over 200 points >< I ran a drac pure team in a 400 pt tourney last night with Pathis, Monk's Blade & Magestone Bracers. 22 Def to start, with Parry/:bow:, and counterattack. About 30 points cheaper than the star shield. As fun as Pathis is, her arc is a wee bit dissappointing, especially with the :hspeed: ... You can't even equip a decent shield because of the :mi:
Well, here was the army I ran... 5 of the 7 players ran faction pure (it's a pretty friendly venue)
Pathis 158
Monk's Blade 37
Magestone Bracers 10
Grathakar 62
Tome of Weirding 28
Centaur's Gait
Circle of Wraiths
Wolf's Kin
Disbelieve
Not exactly optimized, but it was fun to run. 1st round, I was lucky enough to face a team of Oracle Daheia with 4 * Soulshredders. I was mostly :mi:, but I still had the toughest time with the Oracle... She took my CB, crit hit me with a hex roll, and it just got uglier from there. She had Shadowplate and Wand of Fencing... >< With less than a minute to go, I finally hit her, which killed her (there was a lot of shake off dmg being dealt). 2nd round, a k-bow explosion dropped everyone's attack numbers to 7 or less, and Pathis just used Regen to get back to a 22 D. Just clean up from there. Third round, I had to deal with Blackthorn w/ranger's plate, Blackwyn w/screaming shield, and Golemkiller w/woundkiller... >< I only won because of the Twister rolls ^_^
hahahaha...PINPIN...you actually read my posts...so that means i better stop posting my armies here....hahahaha....Pathis does rock the Starsheild...Chroma would also...
PINPIN also takes credit for the Revered Mystic (S) and Fireshield Combo...good job on an excellent wall...
how about my Revered Mystic (W) and Krosian Sheildtome Combo for getting up close and personal...if only my Amazon Drac stayed in base...
