Not the dwarves that's for sure. Definately figures that can break easy...I say the eagles from 2.0 are pretty good but they are a little spendy for what they do. Tough one....do a search here at mkrealms for speedy characters with either the hoof or wing movement type.
Oh...and have a good healer or 2 cheap ones because with easy breaks you will have the opportunity to use it...preferably a soaring healer. Blood Shamans are good for their points and provide hex.
this may sound out of place but check my old forum titled
Hit and Run = fun it was mostly a tactic i used to mc\c my opponents but instead of attacking them a second time attack some constucted terrain place conveniently so that any cavalry fig could potentially harass your opponent to the point of incredible frustration like mc\c their caldera then retreat back to the constructed terrain just out of their surging range or do the saim to their harraser or any real target of interest if you use an EF skydragon and * scalesworn thrall you could potentially do 14 damage on turn 3 if you use leadership on turn 1 and thats without domains backing you up you coul devastate a on man army build and you still might have a chance against BoL if you get turn one and if you used this army
EF Skydragon **x2 142 pts
* Scalesworn honorgaurd x2 72 pts
*** rage paladin 51 pts
then some orc marauders 2 fill up the points
its a very fast army to play and use the terrain trick and youll have some extreme mobilty that is almost unmatched
