Hello,
I have 2 quick tournament rule questions.
My first question is...(I am a new envoy).
1)How do I register the results of the event, and the results of the individual players online? I could not find the answer to that question in any of the documentation.
My second question is....
2) It says that pairings should be random first round and then based on the win/loss record in subsequent rounds. It then says that in scenario events that every possible measure should be taken to keep the factions separate. I understand how to do that first round, but in subsequent rounds I am wondering which pairing style takes precedence in Scenario events.
Thanks for your help,
Jeremy
First of all, welcome to being an envoy, grill8! :D
Second, the best resource for answering your questions is on the Wizkids site. Click the 'Customer Support' link and it will take you to a list of question topics that will drill down to answer most any question that's already been asked.
As for your actual questions:
1) Follow these steps, more or less
- Log into the Wizkids site.
- Bring up the event description.
- Enter the Wizkids ID of each player to add them to the player list
- Click the 'Enter Results' link
- Select Winner/Fellowship Winner
- Select the number of rounds
- Select who defeated whom for each round
- Enter any special info (like which side won in scenario events)
- When you're sure all this is done right, Review the event to close it
2) Pairing in faction scenario events is really difficult (especially if it's a lopsided scenario). I have been wondering myself if their recent departure from army requirements may mean that they wish to have the scenarios use true swiss pairing, then just have the winner declare which faction they wanted to have win afterward.
As for how I do it, I just try to make the best match-ups possible. If all of one side wins, I try to match up the best winners with the best losers. If there are too many for one side, I have the extra players representing that faction fight one another 'for position', essentially. I hate doing it that way, but I can see no better solution.
When you are fully registered as an envoy, you will be taken to a new home page. On that page there are several other FAQs that will help you with pairings and other warlord business.
