The Battle Mentors are classic Draconum beatsticks. They all have a healthy dose of Charge so that they can reach their foes quickly, and all start with an 11 Attack and an 18 Defense. The Weak version is a member of the Dragon Mystics, but because she does not have a wand attack, and so cannot make use of the Sub-faction ability, she doesn’t pay points for it. She starts with Thunderblow, allowing her to put the hurt on any figure she bases, and picks up Sweep to go with her 135-degree arc on her second click to let her deal with anyone who might think to swarm her under. The Standard version of the Battle Mentor starts with Sweep, Crushing Blow, and Parry as well as Charge, turning her into a swarm-killing monster when combined with her 4 base Damage. Even if her foes manage to wear her down, she’s still got a 9 Attack and a 16 Defense on her last click. The Toughest of the Battle Mentors has the same mix of abilities that the Standard version does, but she keeps most of them all the way through to her fourth click, where she still has 7 Move with Charge, 10 Attack with Sweep, 17 Defense, and 4 Damage with Crushing Blow. Her stats go downhill after that, but like her Standard sister, she is still formidable on her last click.
For those of you keeping up on the Scrying Chamber, Gryn Wanderer is a familiar face by now. She makes her appearance here as the Champion version of the Battle Mentor. Unlike her non-Unique fellows, Gryn isn’t a swarm-killing machine. What she is, however, is a very capable secondary attacker and, at her higher point-value versions, a surprisingly resilient Healer. The (a) version of Gryn doesn’t have any special abilities besides Toughness, but between her 10 Attack, 4 Damage, and 17 Defense with the Immune Defense Type, she’s still a very capable secondary fighter, especially for only 40 points. As she moves to her (b) version, Gryn picks up most of the Special Abilities that define her costlier versions. She starts with Quickness (she is called “Wanderer,” after all) and Toughness, and picks up Healing with a 10 Attack and 3 Damage on her second click. While this may not seem like much, she picks up Regeneration 4 clicks further down the dial, letting her Regen back up to that great second click. Gryn’s (c) version keeps Quickness much longer, ups her starting Damage, has Regeneration for even longer, and can start out in a forward position with Infiltrate. She pays for this, however, by having a click less of Healing, leaving a gap between the last click of Healing and the first of Regeneration. The (d) version keeps this gap, but gains even more Regeneration, as well as Command on each of her four clicks of Regeneration, keeping her from being captured while she’s trying to get back into the fight, and ensuring that your other figures can strike the enemy’s figures hard when they’re (hopefully) worn down. The most costly version of Gryn, the (e) version packs quite a punch. She keeps her Toughness longer than any other version, has five clicks of Regeneration, keeps the Command on her last four clicks of life, and seals up the gap between Healing and Regeneration, assuring that she’ll be able to Heal her compatriots no matter what she rolls for her Regeneration. And with so much Regeneration, it’s going to be exceedingly hard to put her out of the fight for good. If you’re looking for a secondary attacker who can also Heal a bit in a pinch, you’ll want one of the cheaper versions of Gryn Wanderer, but if you want a figure that will be a serious thorn in your opponents’ side, Healing your own figures and keeping them in the fight even as your foes vainly struggle to tear the Draconum down.

Just what I do not want to see, another soon to be pimped out Draconum. Oh, how I tire of seeeing that week, after week, after week. And now one that heals...
They're cheaper than the Magna Champions, and don't seem to be that much less capable.
They look pretty slick, too.
Now that Arjen Lightbringer's getting the axe, Gryn will be the only Drac with normal Healing. Certainly sounds like Gryn will do a better job than that lousy elf, though.
This is awesome, don't get me wrong- I will have lots of them. But, since it already has Chroma-esque stats, couldn't it at least look less like Chroma? I mean, seriously! First, Sythryn looks like a Magna Champion, and now the Battle Mentor is Chroma in a different pose. As I said, I'm very excited about this fig, I just wish they'd dig deeper into their sculpt repertoire :D

However, I am sure others will feel differently.
I don't. I'm beginning to have the strange sense that all dracs look alike. Statwise, they are starting to be that way. You either have a Caldera/chroma alike, or a wand using vithzerai/mystic. *Sigh*
If only I could say my Solo's and Shyft had enough figures to be derivative. ;)
This upsets me greatly. This caliber of unit is exactly what the Solonavi are lacking. Some mid-ranged costed beatsticks. We have high end beatsticks and we have really annoying harrassers. Just nothing in this range.
