Alternat reality (in which MK novels are published!)
Browsing on the computer of my local bookstore last night, I found the MK novel #3 Stolen Prophecy and the MK novel #4 The Black Thorn Gambit as having been published in sept 2002 :D but Temporarily Unavailable to Order :(
As they were never published, I guess they were previews that were never removed from the site. I still felt real funny for a second, thinking, against all odds, that they were finally coming out...
They even had pictures of the covers (#3 shows the first Maren'Kar hold a scroll (with some sort of green fumes), #4 shows 2 characters -really not sure who they are- fighting with a Dragonfly Mount close by)
Looking over the net, I found some other sites with similar info, one indicating #3 (to be?) published in 2003, and #4 & #5 in 2004 (#5 being Khamsin's Heir, but there's no cover art...)
Too bad they were never published. The first 2 weren't great books, for sure, but I loved them nevertheless...
Really wish they had completed the remaining novels. I spent every spare minute I had for a couple week reading Rebel Thunder and Dark Debts.
The only thing we have today for fiction is the scrying chamber. It's an OK source of MK short stories but it just doesn't compare to a physical novel.
I would like to know if the dracs won or lost against the solos in that last campaign and it would be nice to update the scrying chambers character logs. i liked the first 2 books they were ok but not novel worthy by any means but it was a good read. and what happened to the MK comics a while back they seemed like they would be a much bigger part of the story but now they look like a side note.
The comics were fun to read but I was hoping for an ongoing story that did someting like the scrying chamber does. Follow the monthly battles we all play in and turn it into a monthly comic book.
Maybe I'm imagining this but Wizkids shut down their publishing division a year ago? Guess I'm not going to the collectors Guide Volume 3 any time soon. :)
