The mysterious Black Thorn’s Draconum companion has long been absent from battlefields across the Land, but with the release of Nexus, you too will be able to field the master of blades that is Tyrsis. The one-eyed Draconum is the only Mage Knight figure ever to have a 360-degree front arc and the first to combine a full front arc with no back arc. That’s right, Tyrsis will never need to free-spin, because this whirling dervish of scaled death can attack any enemy who is foolish enough to base him. Combine that ability with the wing speed type, a moderate speed, and a light 100-point cost that leaves him wide open for Relics and Items, and he is a truly scary sight to behold.
Tyrsis’ attack starts at an 11 for two clicks, then drops slowly throughout his nine-click dial. He begins life with two clicks of a terrifying combination of Sweep, Crushing Blow, and Weapon Master. With his 360-degree front arc, that’s a possible 42-clicks of damage in one attack (assuming the nearly impossible situation of 6 figures surrounding him, a critical hit, and a “6” on his Weapon Master roll, of course), going right through the targets’ defenses. Even after he loses his opening trio of abilities, Tyrsis keeps the Toughness he also begins his dial with, and picks up four clicks of Parry and three of Counterattack. Not only that, but he’s also doing 4 or 5 damage throughout those four clicks, and with a high enough Defense that there is a good chance he’ll actually get to use his Counterattack ability. After he loses his abilities, Tyrsis’ stats drop relatively quickly over the remaining three clicks of his dial, but this is one Draconum that you do not want to swarm.
As mentioned before, Tyrsis will only set you back 100 points, so that leaves plenty of room for the Caeronn Luckblade to make the 42 clicks more likely, and to add to his already-high attack. Given Tyrsis’ lack of range, the Galeshi Sunsword might be a good choice, especially since it adds to both his speed and attack. If you’re having trouble with Vorgoth or Omens’ Mage Spawn, Paragon’s Shield ups Tyrsis’ defense and gives him a little bit of (not much needed) help beating the Mage Spawn down. Inferno is another tasty choice for Tyrsis of course, barbequing his targets before they get slashed up, as well as protecting him from some ranged combat attacks.
He will be BPR, he is (and has always been- at least since the story started) Black Thorn's bodyguard. There was a time he wasn't but she fought him and bested him and so he joined her, and that was said when Black Thorn was first listed as a Warlord.
I hate the lack of edit, for Ice Hawk, he is the Possessed Draconum scuplt. Dragon's Gate it is most popular set to pull figures from but it also had the most uniques (if you count heroes), and they said that most figures were based on uniques.
veralidaine i hate to burst your bubble but he is a drac you can kind of see the symbol on the base. its kind of sad i would have rather had the amazon drac and you guys could have him. Denkai will be the pssessed drac and im betting he will be a solo because of the trend of drac sculpts w/ different factions. this one is the old preator as before mentioned.
My mistake on the sculpt, I don't have all on the Dragon's Gate Dracs yet. As for faction, that is completely stupid, I saw that after I read the post, he is lised as Drac in the unit gallery too and it makes no sence what so ever.
Denkai will not be Solo if ever they make a figure of him because he got away from Vextha by breaking his control over him. He may have the armor but he will not be Solo.
Originally posted by ChiChiBan He is loyal to the Black Thorn, not the revolution. That makes sense to me.
But Blackthorn is a major player in the revolution, so wouldn't make sense for a loyal companion/bodyguard also be a supporter of the BPR and a a key figure as well
too bad they aren't doing the dual factions anymore, this one seems like a ripe canidate for it
