in austria we will play our little nats06 in july for our own. with mk, not heroscape ;-)
i cant tell u now what i will play, too early, but i am seriously considering a combined arms. since releases of omens and nexus the game is well rounded again i think.
omens brought the champs, and most important, cheap magespawn harrassers like grimlin or blackwings. nexus gave us a good protion of mid-cost beatsticks like centaur champ or geddion longblade.
though there are more options, i think a very strong army-build will be the deathseekers/darkmarch/summon-army as often described here on the board.
i dont think we will see much of the center-pieced-armies anymore like vitzh as in the past
and as always, its a question of the metagame in ur area.
Never been to Nat's, but I'd prolly be bringing a faction-pure Elemental Freeholds army and I'd be packing the "Pyresphere" spell. I can't stand Deathspeakers or Summon engines. They just seem kinda cheap.
For a faction pure army, I like. I think, however, that you're too focused on range though. I don't think you need both Laurel and Rowan. As it is, anything with GF need only rip through a sub-par Gora and a pair of Centaurs to basically ensure victory. Off the top of my head, I would take out Laurel and Gora, giving you 134 points to spare. With those points, I would put in a pair of **Centaur Champions, making the army look like this:
Rowan-75
Tome of Brass-33
^Auraheal-8
^Pyresphere-6
^Waterspout-6
^Disbelieve-4
**Centaur Champion-66
**Centaur Champion-66
*Centaur Shaman-29
*Centaur Shaman-29
I changed the Spellbook, making it a little more offensive. I think this one is a bit faster and hits a bit harder, while keeping generally the same flavor. Just my $0.02, but I like all versions of the army.
I owuld probably run some version of CA as well, probably centered around Heddravalis:
Great suggestion on using **Centaur Champions. However, when I list armies, I (usually) only list figures and relics/spells that I own. Even after opening a full case of Nexus plus a couple more boosters, I wound up with NO Cen-Champs (or Medics). Funny thing, though, is I got 3 Heddys and 4 Tyrsises. Anyone fell like tradin' :D

I got a case of Nexus, but got only one Centaur Champ, but got 6 Medics, and no Heddy, so I had to pay another 12 dollars to get one off eBay. >:(
I know the feeling. I had to pay $10 online for my one. But I find in the armies they can be pretty easily replaced by some riders on EF Stags. I like Pike the best, but if you wanna stay EF pure, I'd recommend ***River Chargers.
Locoghould, props on the double Disbelieves. Definitely a must for and good recursion army. Personally I would dump Gishiki and the Bracers of the Archer, and throw in a **Blackwing, so that would could have some bit of harassment against some soaring monstrosities, like Heddravalis or a Sky Dragon with a ranged rider.
Anyone else? I'm really curious as to what the major archetypes would be now that MK is fully developed...
