im new to crimson not forums. i really havent bought any cs products yet but am interested. i dont think i want to play aces. can anyone tell me what to buy how much and some tips? also i would like to know if much places host CS thanks
Next you need to get the Rules Pack, then one of the Squadron Packs. For the most part you are set for games up to around 250 points.
Getting the both Squadron Packs allows you to play up to 500 points or a easy way to have enough for two to play. In this case you only need one Rules Pack as there is enough for two players in the box.
Finally to get best planes for each squadron and a couple more manuvers the East Meet West Ace Pack is the final piece of the puzzle.
Now in the trading forum here some one is selling all their stuff in an auction for so far a great price, so go look.
Now I can only talk about my own area for venues to play. Here in Western Washingiton, USA in the heart of the evil empire. There is plenty of venues hosting CS Marquees.
Well hope that helps and watch out for those sneaky Unionist, stuck up Empirers, self-rightieous Commies, bullheaded Texas, greedy Industrilist, paranoid Southwesterns, isolaisionist Native Americans, poligmist Utes, and most of all that den of cut throat thieves Colorado. Wait your part of that group, well fly free and come visit the glories Nation of Hollywood where even the cows are happier.
no it is marketed seperately, imagine that you wanted to get both squads, you would be forced to buy the rukes twice if they were packaged together. Instead you buy the rules and only the squad you want.

Well like Rapier said no planes with the rules pack, but it is less then $7 dollars. Plus it has some very high production values, two slick sets of cards really nice pog people, and Marquee legit dice (like you don't have a million of) , well worth the price. And if anything you could play the Aces game with the tokens and map out of the box if you really need a game with the rules. Just think most minitures source books are at least $15 buck.
ok so i bought a starter yesterday. i seriously think the dice have been weighted. i rolled a lot with two dice at a time like 10 or 15 in a row and didnt get lower than a 6 (average)
any way i saw the packs were pretty pricey and didnt want to get a bad first pack. what would you suggest as a first pack?
That depends on a lot of factors. If you want to wait about twelve more days you can get one more choice for a squadron. Each of the planes has strengths and flaws. The hollywood planes generally have speed where the bombers have staying power we will have to wait and see what the new squadron will be like. All the dial values are posted on this and wizkids site for your preview pleasure.
Are you asking if you should buy the Broadway Bombers or the Hollywood Knights? Truthfully, that's up to you. Both are equally good, they just have different play styles. The Knights tend to be more about speed, the Bombers have better attack values. So you call it.
The defense values are the silhouette (sp?) values. Pilot checks are dice rolls that allow you to perform certain feats. Generally if you are successful, in rolling numbers higher than the plane's piloting value, you are able to do that particular feat. If you fail, there is usually a consequence for failing to roll a successful pilot check. This is al explained in your rulebook.
