I picked up some of the rubber id rings that I had seen my HC players use. They work great as replacements for the batting order clips. Especially since I have my play mats in 16" x 20" poster frames ($6 at WM). The rubber id rings keep the figs from sliding on the plastic covered board.
I thought about using those, since I use them for HC also. If you laminate your diamond (about $3.00 at Office max), it prevents the figs from sliding as much.
Some issues I came up with, in regards to the id rings, though:
How do you keep track of the batting order, and how do you tell who batted last?
I am glad to hear that there is an alternative to the rings that come with the set becuase they stink. I am sure that they could have designed something better. Everytime that I need to add or subtract a click of performance, I must remove the ring and put it back on.
Do these other rings stay on better?? Where did you get them and how much are they?
hey guys just a thought why not just take a perminite marker to the ring and mark em 1-9 oh and they cost about 3 dollars for a pack of 5 rings so they're not bad.

No. They actually make it easier to click the figure since the base is easier to grip.
