1.LF Carl Crawford-123pt12spd5def(speed demon for 9clicks!)
2.RF Coco Crisp-93pt11spd5def(speed demon into clutch hit)
3.3B Eric Chavez-98pt10spd4def (clutch hit into intimidation)
4.1b Todd Helton-161pt10spd5def (clutch hit for 9 clicks!)
5.CF Rocco Baldelli-106pt11spd5def (great range into cannon)
6.2b D'Angelo Jimenez-111pt11spd5def (double play exp)
7.C Paul LoDuca-93pt9spd5def (late dial leadership)
8.SS Jose Reyes-76pt11spd4def (double play exp)
9.P Mark Mulder-130pt7end9spd (intimidation)
This lineup works for all my pitchers except when I use Jason Schmidt he is 152pt7end9spd (intimidation into flamethrower)
When I use Schmidt, Baldelli comes out and J.D. Drew goes in to Right, Crisp moves over to Center Field and the lineup stays the same.
Great defensive team, but not alot of offensive pop!
It looks like a very solid team that will win/lose most of their games 3-2, 1-0, 2-1 .... As long as the ball stays in the park, you should do well.....
Like, I don't have everybody's dial memorized yet but it certainly *looks* light-hitting.
That may not be a problem with with your pitching and defense but I've found this:
On each side of your infield you realy need one strong field. The other guy only has to make a play on Scorchers hit right to him. (For instance, Chavez is in Zone 1 left-to-righ and Reyes can be in either Zone 2 or 3)
But with both Chavez and Reyes on your left-side you have 2 +4s which seems dicey. Anytime a ball is hit to the left side gap one of them has to move over to make the play...:(

Yeah I have thought about that but for Reyes and Chavez it is hard to find a better all around combo for under 175 points for both a ss and a 3b.
Also I do have to say that I like close games because with Helton and the speed at the top of the lineup I feel if I can keep it close I can win.
I won last night down by 5 runs in the 9th. I was able to pull off 3 consecutive bunts with Crawford,Crisp, and Randy Winn (he pinched hit for Chavez) Then Helton is up with the bases full and smacked one for a grand slam, to tie the game and we won in extra innings on a Reyes solo shot.
As for contructive comments, move Crisp to right and play Pierre instead of Crawford. The one extra point gives you a better dial with scorcher GBs while Crawford hits scorcher FBs, which doesnt work too well with speed demon.

I think speed is pretty weak in this game since
1) even if you get em into scoring position, the end result is more likely to be losing a click when you strand em than it is to be a run
2) Base hits are hard to come by in this game. Why are all the solid singles on batters COLD clicks? In a lot of cases a single is better than a green fly...
3) If Speed Demon worked on a *bunt* (forced catcher to make throwing attempt instead of fielding attempt) they would instantly get alot better
So, thats why I don't spend much time thinking about playing Castillo, Crawford, Pierre, Ichiro, etc
Well Once Crawford or Crisp get on base the +1 to there speed makes them a 13 and a 12 respectivly. A catcher with 6 will still have to roll a 8 or 7 to get them out trying to steal.
I like to be able to get guys in scoring position eaisily.
Also mark my words and the words of FBI, one of the first rule changes will be that if you have Speed Demon on a bunt the catcher will have to make a throwing attempt as well.
You can't scoff at the fact that when Pierre hits a grounder, the fielding target becomes 12 rather than 10.
Your average 5 defense fielder now needs an 8 instead of a 6 to make the out. The odds go from 26/36 to to 15/36, almost half. In a game with failed fielding attempts making up the bulk of the hits, it would seem this is a big boon.
As for stealing, I agree it's a blessing and a curse. You want to be in scoring position so the single will score you. But losing a click for stranding a guy is harsh. I guess sometimes you gotta spend a little to get a little.
I know you're all hot on Edmonds in center field, and I've been considering it myself. But he suffers from the usual problem of needing a couple clicks to become really productive. Barring total control, he needs 3 clicks to become really bothersome. For now, Pierre gets a chance. At least he can try for the extra base on a single. An error then scores him =)
My initial statement still stands, though. Pierre is far superior to Crawford, for 1 point more.
