what is the deal with longshanks, many strategies i hear bout require 1 or more longshanks. help me out!
What's to tell? The longshanks is 6 points of efficient evil! It has a mildly annoying disadvantage which I feel has made it's over all points cost too low (should be about 8 points I think).
so for 6 points you get one of the fastest ships out plus it has 3 masts hitting on 4, 5 or 6! and it can hold 4 cargo (2 spare if you put a captain + helmsman for 5 points). So for 11 points you get a ship that can move S + S + L and then fire 3 canons with a 50% strike chance. The small disadvantage is that it can't pick up the last treasure from an island. Generally you run it with a smaller fast ship (snipe or zephyr if wanting to be pirate pure) so the smaller ship scoots in picks up that last piece of treasure anyway. As it can move and shoot with the Captain on board it also makes a cheap gunboat if you are going shiphunting rather than treasure hunting.
:) :D Just think how evil she would be with 8 points and a shipwright on her too! PURE EVIL! :D :D
BTW my 'Shankses have 3 cargo, are they misprints? :confused:
