Wow, they just keep posting 'em. I suspect these sneaks were supposed to start much earlier, and they're trying to catch up.
FORTALEZA DORADA (#045)
Card Type: Fort
Nationality: Spanish
Rarity: Common
Cannons: 3S, 3S, 3S, 3S, 3L, 3L
Gold Cost: 5
Rules Text:
L-range cannons cannot hit this fort.
Background:
The Spanish claim it doesn’t exist. Yet natives can be persuaded to speak of the “Golden Fortress,” the apparent source of the Spanish gold flowing along the Crimson Coast.
Additional Notes:
From the moment the first Europeans sailed to the new world, rumors of cities of gold were said to exist. Spain—the country that mined the riches of the new land first—created cities, forts, and ports to facilitate the transportation of everything from new foods to precious metals. Although other nations fought them, pirates stole from them, and new nations pushed them out, no one was able to mine the New World as well as the Spanish.
Everyone knew that to get the gold from the Spanish, they had to do more than just hit the ships—they had to attack the cities and forts that were the sources of Spain’s power.
Fortaleza Dorada is one of the toughest forts in the game—and one of the most expensive at 5 gold. As opposing ships approach, they risk the fort’s two big long-range cannons (rank 3). Once they get a bit closer, they should hope they can handle an onslaught of four short-range cannons (also rank 3).
If you play Spain, this fort is a dream come true. You can use it to defend a valuable position, knowing the Herculean effort that will be required to bring it down.
CROSS OF CORONADO (#107)
Card Type: Unique Treasure
Rarity: Rare
Rules Text
You may load this treasure face down. If one of this ship’s masts would be eliminated, you may reveal Cross of Coronado and remove it from the game instead.
Additional Notes
The history of the Cross of Coronado is unclear. Some say it was hijacked from a church in Jerusalem nearly a thousand years ago, while others say it was discovered intact in a cave in the New World, glowing like a beacon. In any case, the origin of the item is not as important as the boon it bestows onto ships: protection akin to that of a divine presence. The Cross has become one of the most sought-after items on the Crimson Coast.
THE PATCH (#019)
Card Type: Character
Nationality: Pirate
Rarity: Common
Point Cost: 3
Background
How he lost his eye is a mystery, but rumors persist that he sold it to the Devil in exchange for the ability to see the shoals and reefs hidden beneath treacherous waters.
Rules Text
This ship ignores terrain when she is given a move action (islands are not terrain).
Additional Notes
The Patch may have had a real name at one time, but no one can remember what it is—and no one really wants to ask him. His one good guy can see things others can only imagine. He has guided ships unscathed through fog so thick that a man couldn’t even see his legs, and around reefs that could have easily rended other ships with less-insightful guides. Captains have learned to take him at his word and not question what he sees, because questioning him means you must look him in the eye—which can peer into your very soul.
The Patch is the only pirate with the ability to disregard terrain. This was exclusively a French ability in Pirates of the Crimson Coast, but in Pirates of the Revolution, each faction has at least one crew with this ability.

It was not, the spanish had this!
Anyways. The fort is sweet, it is not jsut a gold getter, it it is a battle machine. This thing has some real power, but you have to pay the price for it at 5 gold. That is alot if build points and gold to get. YOu might not get that off 1 island even.
The cross, is blah, pretty boring.
The patch is just another boring rip-off. Give us more abilities!
has anyone else noticed a worrying lack of space in the card list?
if there are 130 cards in the set like last time, then there aren't enough spaces for five nationalities. or at least there aren't enough spaces for anything like a decent fleet.
let's assume that pirates run from card 001 (the Black Swan) to 022 (that's two or three after The Patch). Then there is space enough for one fleet from 023 to 045 (Fortaleza Dorana) which presumably will be Spanish. Then there is space from 046 to 061 (which leaves room for the special events cards). Americans follow after that with 068 to maybe 094. and the rest is pretty much taken up with generic crew, more special events and unique treasures.
that means either English or French (or more possibly English AND French, and probaly Spanish too) will be screwed over!
not really sure how there can be a set based on the American War of Independence that doesn't feature those to nationalities pretty heavily!

The way forts are most commonly used, I doubt anyone will bother with it.

Whatever. That sucker is terrific for treasure fleets, as it gives them greater durability. One hit can often make the difference between victory and defeat.

Like, say, the cross you just labelled boring?
I'm a big fan of The Patch, since he (along with Augustin Covas) helps to neutralize the incredibly broken Fog Bank (without resorting to utterly ridiculous mechanics like Mermaids). Anything that helps to even the playing field is a good thing.

Why are you assuming there'll be so many Spanish cards? Previous sets have run with Pirates, English, Spanish, and then French, and I don't see why things would be different here. That means Pirates will get a bunch of cards, while the other (non-American) fleets will get maybe ten or so. We'll then have a half-dozen events, with Americans, Treasure, and generic stuff at the end.

Again, only if you're assuming there'll be twenty or more Spanish cards. This wasn't the case in CC, so why would it be in Revolution? Makes no sense.

I am sry Huntsman but you now offically are my rival. Anything you say even if i agree with it i will take the opposite side.
Ok 1st, the cross: It is ok cause it could save you as you mentioned, but just not much creativty there. I am not commenting on how good it is just that it isn't very creative. Now, Mermaids, Neptunes trident! Theres creativty!
The fort: True enough but in my types of games we play fort play a role in attacking many ppl. If you just treasure run, then stick with the CC forts. If you want to fight take this one.
The patch: It is just an old ability pasted on to a pirate charecter. Boring, either the WK ppl are out of ideas already, are aren't very smart. It is a fine ability, but it is nothing new that was all my comment was on.
Hmmm. No, I'm sorry, but no one who resolves to do something so infantile can be my rival. I just can't take you seriously enough to bother.
You are very good at this knid of stuff, i will give you that. I don't care what you say, you are still taking the opppsite side of me on everything. My commont was more of a joke than anything, but you took it seroiusly. W/e tough i will still argue w/ you to no end on this kind of stuff

No skin off my nose. If I make a reasoned argument and you disagree just because it's me, you're the one who looks like an idiot. I couldn't care less.
Your not reading my posts. What i said was a joke. Mabye you cannot understand humor, but that is what is was! Anywas i was sipmly making the point the we always end up on the oppsite ends of agurements. In the Joya de sol vs. DH 2, in the mermaids and now hear. Actully i have made the first post each time and you choose to disagre with me. I could care less if that is because it is me, or if becuase we have extreamly different views on things. But if you views differ from mine i will agure and make my point.
