ok this came up in a game and kinda had us thinking you guys let me know how you'd solve it
I ship was docked at a wild island, the last mast was blown off ala derilic, however since the bow is touching the island and to tow it you must touch the bow would you allow the ship to be towed.
I'll tell ya what we did after you give me your opinions.
I would say as long the the ship that will be doing the towing can touch the bow of the ship to be towed, without touching another ship or the island, that there should be no issue.
The tower hits bow to bow with the ship to be towed & then the towed ship is moved to the stern of the towing ship.
It is pretty hard to dock a ship so its bow is completely protected. Remember the bow is defined as anything forward of where the front part of the hull meets the table. And any part of the would be "wrecker" ship is fair game to do the touching, including the bowsprit.
that's pretty much how we handled it, just wanted to get your guys way of handling it, the guy who towed it came in and touched his ship to the tip of the docked ship.
Doesn't a ship become undocked when it's derelict? But, yeah...I think you guys handled it right. As long as the towing ship can touch any part of the derelict's bow, it's fair game.
we consider a derilic ship to be docked a good move on someones part was to unload the treasure then pick it up with another ship. And I didn't know plague undocks a ship when it picks it up would this happen before or after the rest of the treasure is loaded but guess nobody else is coming near ya till you leave anyway lol
Temple has it right as usual! I'd personally like to see him and woelf in a knockdown-dragout-30points-grudge-match-winner-takes-all-cage-match-for the championship. THAT would be entertainment! :)
seriously, plague will not allow you to dock, and forces an undock.
The rule says if any part of your ship touches the bow of a derelict ship, you can tow. The bowsprit would be part of anypart! :D
Nah, it would not be fun at all. Woelf would have me screaming uncle right after the roll to see who goes first :)
A nasty thing to do to someone is to infect a ship that was protected by being docked at their Home Island and pummel it. "Honestly sir, it was here a minute ago!"
