Hi everyone, so i promised a long time ago a series of tournament reports from my venue. Well i actually had written two battle reports but unfortunately the text document got lost. So here is a tournament report from my venue (Peru) played on 11/25

Format: 1000 pts unrestricted, 4 actions, no objectives, no styrene, each army must include a titan or a MDF.

My army:

** Skyguard Griphon (A) 421
* Rock Griffin 42 x 3
** Rock Griffin 48 x 3
** Cloud Warrior 48 x 2
** Possesed Draconum 68
Tythania Stormbringer 144

The army idea was originally to have only the Skyguard titan with a lot of Rock Griffins (an all eagle army), but i didn´t have that many Griffins, so i threw a couple of Cloud Warriors and a Possesed Drac (didn´t have anything else decent with wing type and EL). 6 players showed up, 2 players brought a GFD, one brought the new Storm Dragon and the other two (including my lil bro) used IRHG.

I went first against Mario, currently the player with highest ranking, who played a GFD, Mountain King, Sig Eightfingers, Dwarven Rams, Galeshi Rams (don`t remember the exact number but i think there were 6-7 rammers total), Emeral Warder (Unlimited) and Corpheus.

He placed 2 hindering terrain near his deployment zone i didn´t bring any. I decided to start all my figures but Tythania at ground level since i didn´t have too many ranged figures. We both moved forward toward the center, i blocked the line of sight of my titan with my * Griffins to prevent my titan from being long shot by the GFD. what i forgot was his Corpheus who bounded and shot my Titan, he missed and then his GFD hit my 3 * Griffins for 3-3-2 damage (they weren´t in base contact with each other so no flame). I moved my Griffins to base contact his rammers (to prevent massive ram damage to my titan) and then attack the GFD´s head with the Gryphon for 6 damage (8 thunderblow damage minus 2 from invulnerability). His GFD escaped and shot my titan with his right wing but failed. Then Corpheus bounded and hit Tythania for 2 (invulnerability). My possesed was rammed twice and hit into his frenzy clicks. His rammers attacked my Griffins but they were still hangin there. Possesed attacked for 3 damage, then my titan push and decided to go for Corpheus, who got hit for 6 damage i think, and a cloud warrior swept 2 rammers for 5 WM damage. He healed one injured rammer, attack my Gryphon with the left wing of GFD and it for 5, and the killed 2 * Griffins. Possesed Drac pushed (frenzy) and hit once again for 3 damage, Tythania killed a rammer, and a ** Griffin charged and hit the right wing for 2 damage (toughness). I don´t remember quite well the next few turns, i remember my titan killing his Corpheus, his GFD pushing to demo my titan, and Tythania and Griffins hittin to kill his GFD. After both big figures were out it was all about kill points, i tried to finish his rammers before he could heal them and he was trying to finish my Grifins before i soared them away from range. At the end, i got Tythania 2 clicks away from death, and 2 injured ** Griffins, while he had Emerald (inhis first click), Mountain King (3rd or 4th click) and two rammers left. I had 721 pts and he had 749 pts. Very close but very fun match too.

On other tables, Alberto (playing with GFD) beat my brother 400ish to 160ish (my brother only killed Rava and ** Pyre Spirit), Dersu (IRGH, Vextha and Rava) beat Diego (aka popolocrois on the realms, playing Storm Dragon, Pathis and ** Zombie centaurs) only because his army cost less (they didn´t kill a single figure!!).

Dude, many thanks for your report! That match sounded dead even, with the dice gods smiling upon you that day. ;-)

lol, funny that you mention the dice, because i indeed had a lucky day, for the first 10 turns or so i didn´t miss an attack, then there was this turn where i didn´t hit anything (couldn´t even get a 5). i´ll finish the next round later today, more funny rolls to come too.

Very nice! Keep it up! I'm glad to see that there are still people playing the game, and next time I play a game, I'll be sure to post my report.

OK, even when i lost, i still had more points than others, so i went against Dersu who won with 0 kill pts, Mario (the guy who beat me) went against Alberto (battle of the GFD´s) and my brother Anibal against Diego (popolocrois in the realms).

Dersu´s army was

I could really used some blocking terrain there, lol. That will remind me to bring terrain next saturday. Well, i used my * Griffins as a shield to block los from titan to titan (his had more range). We both moved towards the center, with my Tythania near the titan so that she could retaliate if Rava bounded my titan. He took the initiative and surged his Vextha to sweep 2 of my * Rock Griffins for 4 clicks. One War beast double timed to harass my Titan so that he couldn´t mauled his Vextha. Other War beast double timed into base contact with 2 of my ** Griffins. I cleared, he first pushed his Vextha to kill the far left * Griffin so that the line of sight from titans would be clear. then he broke away his war beast from my titan and long shot my Skyguard Gryphon for 5 clicks. In his last action, he pushed his other war beast and dealt 4 damage to one ** Griffin. My turn, payback time. The * Griffin left in base contact with Vextha broke away and Tythania shoot him for 5 clicks, Possesed Draconum, who was also in the neighborhood, surged and hit Vextha for 5 more killing him. My ** Griffins retaliate and left the War beast in his frenzy clicks and finally my other * Griffin moved (quickness) to block los from the IRGH. He revenant Vextha and hit the Skyguard for 4 clicks and then Rava precision shoot my titan for 4 more clicks (he needed a 7 and rolled an 8). Then he sent an Ub khan into surge distance from my ** Griffins. Once again i could only avenge my titan, Tythania pushed and shot Rava for 4 clicks (lurk) and Possesed Drac finished him. My titan "double timed" to prevent being attacked again. Wrong. He pushed his Blood Cultist to revenant Khan Rava, then broke away his frenzied war beast from my ** Griffins and Rava shot my titan for another 4 clicks to leave him demo´ed. Finally he pushed his Titan and killed my Possesed Drac. I knew he would try to kill the Skyguard first, after all he was worth 421 pts. so i decided to just harass his Titan outside his front arc so that he couldn´t finished my Skyguard Gryphon. After a lot of turns that involve him revenant dead figures to kill my harassers (he revenant a *** War beast, surged him to kill my * Griffin with thunderblow, he needed a 5 on the first attack and rolled a 4!) eventually he set his titan free from my figures and moved and bound my titan to death. After that it was all downhill, even when i had killed Vextha, Rava and his 3 *** Warbeasts, there were a lot of figures available to be raised from dead (ironically my Possesed Drac allowed his IRGH to kill my Skyguard Gryphon) and he had a healer while i didn´t (coming to think about it, i didn´t have support figures, like revenant, healer, hex, leadership, etc.) Anyways, i tried to bound either his healer or blood cultist, but he smelled that and killed Tythania (didn´t know she die so fast). His masked shaman keep healing his Ub khans (even twice in a turn due to Magestone Trance, he didn´t even miss one lousy Magestone trance roll). Ah well, i tried to hit the IRGH from the rear arc with my only ** Griffin left, i needed 11 even with gang up and failed. An injured ** Cloud Warrior base him to at least give my ** Rock Griffin more attack from gang up. He attack that Cloud Warrior (he was too far away to base him in the rear) and rolled a critical miss (finally!!). I cleared so that i could use gang up. he cleared too. My ** Rock Griffin got 11 ( i needed 10) and hit his IRGH for 3 clicks and then i decided to attack with my Cloud Warrior, even with +2 from gang up i needed a critical hit, i rolled and got an 11 (i swear the second 6 switch to 5 in the last second). Just before i was going to be literally swept, time ended and i obviously i lost like 660ish to 460ish. Fun match, but he played better i guess.

On other tables my brother managed to kill Diego´s Storm Dragon and win (he only lost an * amazon scout and a *** grimlin i think). IT was a funny match also because at one time the Storm Dragon tried to break away from BOTH Varatrix and IRHG and failed!!! Then, after taking a beating from both, he pushed and attack Trix rolling a critical miss, talking about bad rolls.

Finally, the match between Mario and Alberto was also a close match. Alberto´s army was an anciend GFD, Chroma, ** Summoner, ** Pyre Spirit, *** War Hatchetkrugg x 2, *** Dwarven Forgemage and 2 *** battle mentors. When time ended, Chroma was 2 clicks away from death, the 3 magespawn were almost dead (they were killed once but got summoned), both GFD were killed, and there was only the Mountain King, a rammer and emerald warder alive i think. Mario won by merely 20ish pts. Usually we used to play at least 3 rounds (3 months ago we played always 4 rounds) but our warlord couldn´t come the last month and we had to play battle royales a lot. So this was our "first"real tourney in 2 months. It was late and we decided to leave it there with Mario taking 1st place, Dersu 2nd and Alberto i think 3rd place. Next saturday will be 600 pts, pure faction, all styrene allowed. I´ll post up the results on monday or sunday (if i can).
