I just want to put feelers out there .. because more likely than not I'll be putting them on eBay soon. I just wanted to get a feel of what everyone thought a set of the Original Four Horsemen were worth? (the ones where there were only 8 complete sets made ... EVER).
I'll also be putting up all my Mage Knight factory sets soon as well. While I would love to keep them, I'm in the middle of buying a house and need to squeeze out whatever amount of $$$ I can.
So, how much do you think the Original (Sinister) Four Horsemen are worth today? They were worth $20,000 then they first came out. :)
Id be realy curious myself how much they are worth I guess its realy whatever someone is willing to pay. I cant imagine they would be worth nearly as much though. Given the huge Drop in player base.
Id realy be curious though as They are still rare and amazing. Ive always been curious if all the Horseman were found.Or if there is a random booster out there that is like a lotto/golden Ticket.
On the topic of Factory sets wich Sets are you talking about Ty?
Or all sets?
And how much are you thinking per set?
If you had caught me last week, I may well have traded you my house for your MK collection...:cross-eye
Guarantee I'll be watching those auctions, at least. Might even bid, but I can't afford a divorce... Anyway, it doesn't bode well that the guy who owns MKRealms is finally bailing out. Are you sure you've thought this through? Do you really need the house? Bad time of year to move, y'know. Just sayin'. Probably have lower interest rates if you wait a while, maybe. Have you considered adding on to your present domicile? Might be less of a headache that way. You know you'll miss those Horsemen when the roof is leaking. I'll bet they're really neat. I would hold on to those, if I were you. Seriously. You never know when MK might get resurrected, and then you could be like, "look, I've had these for so long. You don't have figures like these. I do, though. Me, and like...six other people in the world. There are more Mickey Mantle rookie cards than there are of these babies." And people would be all "Whooooaah! That's so cool! You're awesome, Typhon." Nobody ever says things like that about a house. Well, unless you're buying a Frank Lloy Wright joint, or something. Then, yeah, sell 'em. Well, maybe not even then. It depends. You're not buying Falling Water, are you?
My guess would be about 1 grand each. But you know what EBay is like if two or more bidders with deep pockets decide they want them then the sky's the limit. Good luck, I'll be watching this with interest too!
They were worth $20,000 then they first came out. :)
worth? so somebody did pay that price? lol!
for sure, great and very very rare figs ... would like to be able to say they are mine ... but
... cause i am a normal citizen of earth, i see no chance to compete for them hehe. but i am going to watch the development of prices very intensive and report it on our site ;-)
wish you all the luck to get best money for them, typhoon!

I would be very careful what you list them at....I saw 2 horsemen (sinister) sell for less than $40 each in the last 6 months....I personally think about $1000 for all 4 would be the most you will get, but who knows? Like werebear stated "two bidders with deep pockets..."
Good luck and may the force guide those bids:devious:

Well your wife says that:rolleyes: .........................Unless you buy a bigger house with a sweet new gaming room:cool:
Yeah.. I'm actually in an apartment right now... so this is my first house, and I'm just trying to offset some closing costs ( if there are any). Believe me, I've been struggling with this (possibly selling the figs) for a while now. Mage Knight was my first foray into Hobby Gaming, and while the player base has been in decline, it still represents the a significant point in Hobby Gaming History. These 4 figures still represent the most that has ever (as far as I know) been paid for hobby gaming products. They were purchased by someone in Texas for ~$5000 each.
As I put stuff up I'll be sure to announce it ... because this will be the most complete collection that has been put up on eBay in quite some time.
So whats the plan. Are you going to put these things up before or after the new year? As one of the owners of a set of the original 4 horsemen I will be watching with interest if you decide to part with them. I may suggest that they may gain value if you wait a couple of years. Then you can pay down the mortgage on the new house instead of selling cheap now. Just a thought
i agree with frod, i would hang on to them, you never know, if the videogames go fairly well wizkids might start producin mageknight again, and then they would be worth a lot again!
also just as a collection they will be worth more the longer you hang on to them, as the others get old and/or broken and/or come up missing altogether, the remaining sets will have an increase in value
You've gotta realize that many games without "official" support have been going on for ages and ages. Consider DBA. It's got official support NOW, but back in the early 90's the guy that created it virtually dissapeared from the planet, and the game went on a massive decline. The die-hards held on however, and began purchasing the greens (the moulds) for the armies, and just began producing their own. Nowadays, it's a thriving business again, and the dude that created it is back from the nether-regions. It's one of the largest showings at Fall In! in Gettysburg every year now.
So have faith! There are other examples too, but I've not had personal experience with any other "dead" game that's been ressurected, so I'll stave off comment on those. I'm only one titan away from completing my collection (Where ARE you gilgarsh???) and then I'm moving on to complete my rebellion, and so on and so forth. I never cared for official tournaments or WK support anyway, and from what I gather on these forums, most of you didn't either. WK might not think the game is worth anything anymore, but me and my ebay account, beg to differ. ;-)
I really liked the official tournaments, it was the only time I got to play.
Also I liked the prize support when it was an LE that could not be pulled from boosters.
re: the Horsemen - did you buy or pull? if you bought them, don't sell if you won't get back what you spent
offtopic @ Manimal:
