Anything with 12 IT should be able to hit, though you'll need high damage or armor piercing. Maybe use some armor piercing artillery. If you can find a way to heat him up you could use heat-seeking ammo.
Arzu/RisingSun/I.T. Take 4/ Kisho(LE)/Nebula/I.T.. Both can be replace with Pulse as well. Also Hot drop into back ARC with Kym, Dot, or Matt. Also Frankie.9ball/IT maybe do too.
Why a formation of combat techs? I can see the repair function (although levvin does enough damage to knock most mechs past a repair marker) and even having more than one for the ability to repair every turn but you cannot use a formation to repair. It will have to be individual attempts.
But with that said, you are spending 2 orders (one to attack and one for repair) to his 1 order. He should have plenty of other units to give orders to including threatening or basing the techs.
You need to try to present Levin with as few targets as possible at a time. Remember that he gets a +1 to attack for each and every target. Why give him the a +2 or +3 against your mech when a +1 is bad enough?
I agree with Cavingjan about presenting as few targets as possible, but also consider a formation . Using some the longer range infantry to give your big hammer an attack bonus to overcome that 24 defense. Also, force him to go 3-deep into that heat-dial.
In larger games you could use a formation drop with 2-3 Towed Gauss Rifles and a Kelswa Tank. An attack value 14 or 16 should be high enough to hit Solitude.
Being able to keep alternating Armor Piercing Artillery on any difficult Piece is a good way to soften up a target and make them build up heat. The Waste land planet condition is a good way to also enhance this as it elminates water from the play area and a mech must give a vent order to take cooling.
Hi all! Im a predominantly RotS player but I recently played a tough against Jonah Levin with extended range ammo. Does Jonah Levin's targetting ability work with extended range ammo? Not having a BM around, I agreed to it but would very much like to know the official ruling.
