Ultra rare extended range ammo
which is harder to get, more then the mech it comes with
I thought the extended range cards (like G-175) only gave a max range of 16. Is there another type of extended range card? Which mech did it come with?

enhanced Targeting but its limited to CW/SW. doubles to max of 24 with maximum dmg of 3.
Extended range ammo (there s a L and A of that one wich comes with Black Out Malice and Gray Hunter Wulfen) doubles range to a max of 16 with a -2 av
my bad,I dont have one myself so uh,yeah, anyways the UR CW thor doesnt really need to be primed but each click is a great click untill it does prime. I wish i could get my hands on one
its nice on 16'" mechs but failed to many times at 1st shot rolling a 1 so im not that optimistic about cards that have a certain chance of working and then having to roll for hit afterwards.
still its 10 points worth the risk of losing (i beleve its not disabled its destroyed when rolling a 1 so you lose 10 points of your build)
but i believe these 3 mentioned gear cards are the only gear wich increases range. (there are 2 FPS - DF, CNC and 2 SAs HiL/SC, SH/SW that give a bonus a +2" range to 1 unit)
RISC Hyper Laser is faction independent card which adds 1/2 of the energy weapon range, so that 21" max for 14" range or 24" max or 16" range.
The downside is that you have to roll 3-6 first to be able to use it, and if you roll 1 its permanently disabled.
This is why RISC equipment should be considered a secondary tactic or a last-resort move to use it. If you try to rely on it, it will blow up in your face.
Accually, hyper laser fails on a 1-3 not 1-2. So it only works 50% of the time. But when it does work its freaking rediculous. Yes it is a risc gear, but it's only 19 points! The way i like to use it, is like an improved ppc capacitor. Don't count on its range bonus, but shoot within your maximum range, and if it works, it does 50% more damage at no cost of heat to you! And for the rare case that you need it, it also goes through reflective armor.
I agree about some risc gear not being worth the risc, but this is definately one that is!
