If you've ever seen '1776 - the musical' then you know those lines come from a letter George Washington wrote while waiting for the Contenential Congress to actually act and do something.
And that's how i feel right now....Is anyone there? Does anyone Care? Does anyone see what I see? I don't know why, but it least 3 times a week, i still come back to MKRealms.com...just to see what is here...
And today...I found this! a working forum. Mind you, the last post on anything was 1 1/2 years ago. Imagine my surprise when my log in actually worked.
So....Is anyone there? Does anyone Care? Because I know i do....
I'm in awe, actually... I had given up hope of MKRealms ever coming back, but I guess I was wrong! This made my day! I too have all my MK stuff, and am so ready to start talking about it again. The 1776 reference was also wonderful.
Like all of you I still have all my stuff. In fact, my collection continues to grow to this day! Still many players here to play and trade with..though we are a mere handful compared to the community we had back then..we still do play semi-regularly at our local shop (usually 4-6 players). people still stop to ask about the game and where they can buy it. This is when it becomes a little hard to get new players since the availability of MK stuff here is really very limited, unless you shop online of course.
I'll definitely look forward to this revival. I don't mind if they make a new set or not, but if they can just reprint everything and make them all tournament legal again, I'm good!:)
I have not found any other game that can compare. Mageknight has always had that great back stry with it's many complex and exciting factions. A game soooo full of potential. It is by no means perfect, but it's the one game that truly hooked me in line and sinker. A game that I look forward to play almost everyday if possible! Yes I am indeed addicted to this game. A game so full of potential!!!
Welcome back my fellow MK addicts! congratulations to the return of the realms!!!
I care... despite the fact I've had very few opportunities to play the past few years, Mage Knight still is my favorite game ever. Maybe I can get myself motivated to try and play a game here and there - I think my brother still has many of his figures.
In any case, I can't see myself ever getting rid of my collection :) It's just too cool of a game!
Only a few weeks ago I dug out the old collection (I kept plenty of figs, enough to build many armies, should I become some kind of sole supplier for play) and started trying to find what had happened.
It was like the game never existed. I've never seen anything that big vanish from the internet so completely, quite literally the only things that came up on Google search were some very very old Angelfire and Tripod pages(!). I mean, MK was huge... once upon a time!
Anyway, I used to have an account on here a thousand years ago and posted quite a bit while the game was still in print. I thought it was FramFramson, but that name wasn't taken, so I guess not!
Also, I was hoping to start a thread dedicated to recovering all the resources this game has lost:
- Figure gallery and full stats. The stats can at least be obtained by downloading battleplanner and installing the MK patch, but there are no images. The only site I've found anywhere that has anything even halfway close to the full image set is ############.com's catalogue (they're only missing a handful of pics, and those that are missing they at least took photos to replace. Of course, in some cases all figures are shown with a single 'weak' or 'standard' pic, but that'll do at least).
- General rules, full rulebook, documentation, tournament FAQ's, etc. I have copies of most of these.
- Terrain templates.
- Home conversion rules for 1.0/2.0. I have a copy of the most commonly used rule page.
- Weredwarf's point cost calculator. A legendary necessity for custom figs. I have this as well as the dial creator, but the dial creator doesn't work properly (it was an Open Office 1.0 file and OO v2.x doesn't seem to like it much).
- Map & fiction. Our poor scrying chamber and interactive map - where are you now? So much information gone!
- Little things like the Tournament army sheet, Joust playmat, checklists, bombardment token PDF, etc. I have a lot of these too.
