I know, I'm probably supposed to build my armies based upon what is most strategically viable. But a great deal of the time I can't help but build armies based purely on either looks or with a certain premise behind them. I am starting this thread to see how many other people have designed an army or two not because they know it's going to destroy all, but rather because it just looks plain flat out cool.
Examples:
Rayevisayla
**Pyre Spirits x 3
Vithzerai

I typically played All-Drac conquest armies. They always did fine. I probably only averaged 5-6 turns on a typical one hour conquest match, so having figures with high damage output, lots of life, many with toughness or invulnerability, and big range was usually a pretty good setup, I found.
And it really doesn't get much better than running an all-Drac army. Particularly when half of your Dracs are all repainted to look alike...
My son and I had a great game last nite - and well both armies looked good.
My sons Orcs (he's been so attached to these three)
Podo 2.0
Khan Rava
Khan Harrowblade
Orc Warbeast x 2
Orc Wolfkin x 2
Orc Slaver
Mending priestess 1.0 (yah i dont know wat he was thinking - but it did kill one of my figs
My Elemental Army:
Skyros
Centaur lieutenants x4 1.0
troll Knight 2.0
Thunderdoom Troll
Dragon Priest on Horned Stag
Basically we just played w/o objective tokens only kill points and a time limit.
Once time was called - I had more kill points: centaurs killing both warbeasts/wolfkin/ slaver , w/ Skyros killing Khan Harrowblade and my TD troll down to its last 2 clicks; he managed to take out Skyros, all but one of my centaurs; i still had my DP on the stag
However my son still had an unscathed Rava, Podo, a wolfkin and the mending priestess.
He wanted to finish the game to the last man standing so of course I said yes.
However in the end I just couldnt get to Rava and Podo held his ground. I was left w/ the DP dismounted (stag was killed) waiting to be shot by the piercing arrows of Rava.
Had a blast though - so were thinking of another game w/ the same pure faction good looks armies. hehehehe
