Magneto (Eric Lehnsherr) [common]
MOR-080
Cost: 5
ATK: 9
DEF: 9
Flight, Ranged Combat
At the start of your attack step, if you control another Brotherhood character, you may exhaust target character with a cost of 4 or less.
“The war is still coming, Charles, and I intend to fight it…by any means necessary.”
Not a bad card at all! In fact, it's great for stopping reinforcement, and smothering those support characters' activation powers...
That could really help at the start of the game. If you have initiative and it's your fifth turn, and you have this in your hand, then you can reallly use him. You could put him out and immediatly exhaust your opponent's best character (since he'd only be able to have a character of 4 cost). Plus it's stats aren't bad. The brotherhood is really looking good so far. Heck, all the teams are looking good so far. I just wish we'd see more FF and Sentinels (Human Torch Tomorrow!!!!!!).
Sorry, I haven't played the game yet, I figured that step 5 wouldn't be too far into the game. And since you 50 life instead of 20 (MTG) then I just thought it would go longer. Anyway, he still looks cool.
And remember that this game is phase by phase, not turn by turn - you and your opponent draw together, then if you have initiative: you build, then your opponent builds, then you attack, then your opponent atgtacks, then you both recover and your opponent gets initiative...
One thing I'm curious about, Docx never told us where he found the card. He just said it was the second unannounced card on the UD site. The middle face-down card is still Yancy Street and I couldn't find it anywhere else. Where was it hiding, Doc?
BTW, great card. Good for keeping any leftover Banshees or Rogues at bay.
I didn't get the card via any insider info, if that's what you're asking. I simply did a little detective work based on previous card information and making some good guesses.
Any knowledgeable computer guy could have done the same.
-grin- ie: he knew a Brotherhood card was coming up soon because none had been revealed on the site, so he checked every Brotherhood number not revealed until he found it =)
Oh no, I didn't think it was insider info, I knew you searched for it on the UD site. Just wondering where you found it exactly. BTW, if Kergy is right, then you have much more patience than I do. :P
Actually, I wrote a program to crawl through possible card image names and downloaded the card images that were available.
It's not as romantic as crawling through the UDE website and clicking on every link, but I'm a busy guy and don't have the time to be romantic. . . gotta hit it and get it and move on :-)
