Having a little time on my hands over the weekend, I decided to crunch some numbers (well, ok, I let Excel crunch some numbers) and come up with some stats based on character cost, ATK and DEF. I'm a nerd, so I rounded everything to 3 decimal places instead of whole numbers. ;)

Avg ATK = average attack score for that cost level
Avg DEF = average defense score for that cost level
Avg Sum = average sum of ATK and DEF
Avg ATK/Cost = average attack score divided by cost
Avg DEF/Cost = average defense score divided by cost
Avg Sum/Cost = average sum of ATK and DEF divided by cost
Most common ATK = ATK score that occurs most often at that cost level

Most common DEF = DEF score that occurs most often at that cost level

I didn't bother with cost 8-10 since there are so few characters there, but I'll try to keep the list updated as new expansions come out.

What this really shows is the value of the 5 cost Thing (11/11).

It seems that the 5 slot got scammed on the power level as 4 gets a 7/6. As 6 averages 12/12, 5 should be 10/9, but is actually just 8/8.

From this I'd likely base my deck around 2/3/4 build so that on turn 5 I drop a 2 and a 3, rather than a 5, and then prepare for a 6.

In a Thing deck, turn 5 should definitely be planned as a "big turn" for the Thing, as he'll likely have a 4 ATK advantage on any opponent.

With luck, you can get thing out on turn 4. Now that would be sweet.

This set of stats will likely be invaluable when deck building and looking over cards. By looking at the average stats, I can then judge whether a good ability is worth the sacrifice of the ATK/DEF stats, etc. and also if a character more or less was just stiffed (at least relative for my type of deck).

Btw - Kergy - where's our new Top 10 cards eh? Don't tell me I'm going to have to settle for Inquests terrible article. :p :)
