There is a point to be made here though that nowhere on the promos does it say that they can't be used in games. Just put a blank card back in your deck, and when it comes up you play the oversized card in its place.

The only way you'd be able to play with the oversized cards in tournament play would be to have a deck with lots and lots of the Sentinel Army card. You could then put in copies of whatever other cards you like to finish out your deck.
I don't know if there will be something in the tournament rules saying your cards have to have the foil 'e' symbol on them, but if there is such a restriction, you wouldn't be able to play this deck since none of the promo cards have the foil embossing.
is the spiral that came with the newest scrye a promo? i didn't think so, it looks to be identical to the regular spiral, foil 'e' and all. just wondering
The regular sized cards are NOT promos (ebay sellers' opinions to the contrary) in the traditional CCG/TCG sense of the word (i.e. cards that you can't get anywhere else). They are identical to the cards you can pull from boosters and can be thought of as 'promo inserts' So, the Spiral you pull from Inquest or the Cyclops you pull from Wizard are exactly the same as the Spiral and Cyclops you pull from your boosters.
Originally posted by Toad Can't you play with the original card in your deck and when you play it switch it out for the jumbo sized one? I don't see why this would be illegal.
Why would you possibly want to, other than to be a pain in the a#$?
Originally posted by Toad I wasn't saying that I would do that, but I'm quite sure there will be some fanboy out there who wants to see his huge Magneto hit the table.
The answer would be no on using the oversized cards during a tournament. You can't shuffle the card in your deck, it would obviously mark your deck, and using a proxy and switching it with the oversized card forces me as a TO to create a larger than necessary play area for you to play in.
It's not convienent for me as a TO, your opponent who now has little room to play in himself, and it's a waste of time and energy. Just use the regular cards and if you want to show off your oversized promos, wait until after the matches are done.
