Overload SEEMS to be the answer to brother beats, but unless you plan on using your own Savage Beatdown on my character, it will be useless. I only pump up to "just-under-overload" strength.
heh. Stu, bad monday for you huh? Dont you mean overload?
Well at anyrate, personally I dont believe overload is obselete. It is quite good, in my current enviroment anyways. lots of TNB's out there. Overload definitely a life saver (especially since Im running doom)
What makes you think this card only works against TNB? Slap an Advanced Hardware on nearly any 1RC to 2RC character and they're prime candidates for Overload.
The slightly bigger ones will require another pump but you know your opponent's just dying to use Flying Kick.
The only deck I've considered using Overload for is Skrulls - basically targeting your opponent's characters with the Skrull Soldier ability then Overloading them. In theory it might work as a defensive tactic on turns when your Skrulls don't have intitiative, but I haven't had a chance to test that theory yet.
Other than that one situation, I can't think of any reason why I'd run Overload.

Yikes, kinda aggressive today huh Zaxx? I didnt say that it only works against TNB. I was only commenting on the fact that in my local metagame there are many TNB decks so Overload is a good for me.
Im aware that there are many other ways of pumping up characters offensively.
Still, Stu, Overload isn't obselete. Sure you can counter it with not so fast, but everything has a counter. Overload is a great card against some decks, and useless against others.
Just because your pumping you characters to just under twice their printed attack doesn't mean you won't get slapped with an Overload.
