Welcome everyone, and I hope you brought your own marshmallows. I wanted to start a thread to give anyone who has experienced the wonderful world of multi player to post a story about a game or a neat moment that they experienced while playing. i have read a decent amount of posts asking how multiplayer actually is and how it plays out but no one really gets a chance to share. Since it's my post I guesss I'll start.
One thing that I saw in multi player that would never work in one on one is my frineds usage of destiny. This was a three person Melee. I was using FF, and my other friends had X-men and BHood. Straight BHood deck relying on curve rather than TNB. He drops Destiny drop one and proceeds to attack the only other person who didn't drop a character that turn and reveals Savage land for a point. He uses estiny's ability for the next three turns and even goes so far as to use it, KO Destiny to recruit Destiny and double target a Logan on the table (which I promptly stunned). He did hve one other character on the board turn three but that character got wasted and he began the sick process of discarding for the space station to get both Destinys and double recruiting and using the ability. When all was said and done he lost ferociously but not before dealing 29 points on the table with just Destiny. Never in a duel would this work with only her and one other character on the board. But we did laugh about it for a good twenty minutes after the game. Please share any stories you guys might have. I would love to hea them.
I built 4 shoebox (non-competetive) decks so all my friends and I can play, each deck with a team affiliation (Sentinels, X-Men, etc.)
There were four of us playing in a multiplayer melee. Every man (and woman) for themself. By turn 6, all characters in play were at least 4 drops or below, no one had really dealt any serious damage. My buddy with the Candy Corn-esque Sentinel Deck had nothing but Wild Senties out there, and a Senator Kelly. (Sentinel deck played Primary Directive twice this turn, with a hand total of 13 cards. More on this later...) The X-Deck had a Logan, a Jean Grey, and a Dazzler. The Fantastic Four Deck had Johnny Storm Hotshot, She-Hulk Jenny Walters, and She-Thing, each with an equip card. And I with my Doom Deck had Kristoff, 4 Drop Dr. Doom, and two RoboSentries.
When turn seven came along, everyone threw out their big guys. Wolverine Berzerker Rage, 7 Drop Mr. Fantastic, and My Sub Mariner.
Initative was mine this turn, and I unleashed Namor and set him loose on everyone's support row characters, Jean Grey and Dazzler got stunned, Hotshot Torch got stunned, God knows how many Wild Sentinels got stunned. I've done a combined total of 72 enurance that turn with Namor alone! And, to add insult to injury, I played Doom Triumphant to my buddy with the Sentinel Deck, and he discarded his entire hand to the graveyard: 15 Cards! Take THAT, Candy Corned Sentinels... HA!
i play at school a lot because our teacher is a moron. theres 3 of us that play and generally we play a 3-way. its so hard to keep the life and attacking balanced. the one that gets left alone the most tends to win.
what i think would be interesting would be playing a emperor style match. maybe when dc comes out. dc heros versus marvel villains or something like that.
I have actually been trying to come up with an emperor style of play for this but it's really difficult. If you guys come up with one let me know because I would definitely like to try it. Keep them coming guys.
I play almost exclusively multiplayer (3 to 5 players).
A couple of shining moments came when it was turn 7, my initiative, and I play Sub-Mariner. No one caught on, so there was a total of about 8 characters among everyone's support row. It was over that turn.
Another time, I had Wolverine:BR out, and it wasn't my initative (I had nothing more defensive to play). The active player decides to do a big team attack against someone's Magneto, Eric Lensherr, and that was it. When it was my turn, I flying kicked my way through all of their back row characters.
Those really good games are few and far between, though. I usually get trounced.
Dont feel bad knifey -- some ringwraith chump, doomboy, and their sentinel cronie always trounce the poop out of me. I hardly win a multiplayer, but #### they are fun.
wouldnt pass it up for the world. Great game Great people
Its all good.
