No, you didn't misread the subject, and no, I'm not suffering from a massive head wound. At the June 6 PCQ in Gainesville, FL, someone made the top 8 with *gasp* a Xavier's Dream deck. The someone is actually a friend of mine and fellow local Gainesvillian.
He put together a pretty solid deck and went 3-2 in swiss. He lost in top 8 to gator7870's FF beats deck that also beat him in swiss. His other swiss loss came to my Big Brotherhood. What was really funny was that those two losses came in the 4th and 5th rounds. Yep, that's right. He was one of 3 people with a 3-0 record after the first three rounds. He's a good player, but that didn't stop the whole situation from being just hysterical.
That being said, his matchups for the first three rounds were very beneficial. His first round was against a Sentinel deck which I didn't hear much about. His 2nd and 3rd round matchups were both Doom control. The Doom decks didn't really stand a chance because all the Dream had to do was get to turn 8 and he won. He didn't match up well with Brotherhood or FF beats, however, he did manage to take me and my Brotherhood to 3 games. There's nothing like watching someone pull off a combo on turn 8 then realizing they can do it again for two more turns to win and there isn't a single thing you can do about it.
Anyways, it was a fun tournament, and I made top 4, but the coolest thing of the day was the Dream deck. Great job, Alec.
I am putting together a quick article for the front page announcing the deck to the world... it is sweet indeed. I will also post the Top 8 decklist in this section.
Great tournament all, four Realmers in the final four. Whateley25 is king. Nice.
Candy Corn never saw brotherhood all day... go figure.

The best part about his deck in the beggining was that he faced 3 consecutive Doom decks in a row, which made the match all that much funnier. Good job on your Top 8 entrance Alec, kudos.
Well, I would prefer the term God Emperor, but I appreciate the compliment, Stu.
And it was an absolutely amazing tournament. The group of people that showed up were for the most part pleasant without being saccharine sweet. The competition was good, and Unity Entertainment always runs a good tournament.
Hopefully I'll see most of you guys at Origin, assuming that I can manage the finances properly.
I guess now that this crazy idea is out there we might see some more Xavier's Dream decks!...I don't think so but it was a nice sentiment.
Congrats on bringing the dream to the top 8 Alec...and too bad Xavier woke up in the top 8...better luck next time.
I will have my day...I get closer and closer every PCQ...Top 8, Top 4, Top 2...next is 1st place hopefully. Good luck to all in Clermont this weekend. I might be able to make it there.
Yes, good luck to those in clermont. I won't be there, but have fun. The only problem with the x-men is that they are afraid of the fantastic four. I played alec twice and never saw a dream, only saw puppet master twice. We did play a 3rd game for fun where alec got the combo out on me. It was hysterical. Try it, you just might like it.
