Which of these do you prefer in your deck, and why? I've been using the UMs recently, but I'm thinking of switching over to the PFFs to prevent Finishing Moves, as one of my buddies is so fond of.
What you guys think, or is there a better card to use than these? I'm using Kevlar Body Armor already, btw. ;)
After the character is stunned, the equipment text is turned off, so these do not prevent finishing moves. They do prevent Paralysis, Entangles, Fastball Specials, etc....
Now, if you play X-Men with Children of the Atom, this is a no brainer. Fantastic Four who can not be stunned? Again, this is the way to go. But watch your timing.
X-Men... they stun your character.
Do NOT try to Children of the Atom them... as they will respond by adding the Finsihing Move onto the chain, and it will resolve first. I am not certain if this causes you to lose your CotA or if it just cancels it and you keep it in hand and do not discard. but if they try to Finish you... you can play the CotA and they waste the Finishing Move.
For FF with Valeria, or Invisible Woman, it is a no brainer.
Any character that regenerates (James Howlett, Victor Creed, Mr Sinister) are also great choices.
Now some may question the Children of the Atom play... but since the card is already Stunned, you can indeed target it with your own plot twists at that time. And then as soon as it is recovered, it becomes immune to any further plot twists. Rather nice actually.
He usually uses Fastball Special to stun the Reinforcing Sue in the first place, that's why I was looking at the PFFs. I am playing the FF deck that I linked above. ;)
He's playing XMen/Brotherhood, more XMen last I played him.
What you're saying(just to make sure) is that I CotA him when he tries to Finishing Move my characters?
If you have X-Men... and are using CotA it works like this....
You have a character with a Personal Force Field on.
1) They can not be fastball special'ed
2) they can not be entangled
3) they can not be Paralyzed
4) but they CAN be beaten with briute force, and you can not use your own plot twists to protect them.
5) they CAN be the target of character abilities
But if they are beaten, they will be stunned with NO breakthrough because they are reinforced by the PFF at the time of stun.
Now say they want to get rid of that character, who qualifies as an X-Men for our purposes.......
Your opponent can use Finishing Move on them immediately, sonce the PFF does nto apply. They can also discard to use Negative Zone, or use Punisher, or Orbital Sentinel Base... ANY way to KO a stun character is valid.
So the effect goes on the chain.......
-) KO Stunned Character
1) you add CotA to Recover Stunned character.....
As it resoves, yu will be recovered before any KO effects, and the KO effects can not impact a non-stunned character. After the recover, NO plot twists may target this character, so you are back to where we started.
"Equipped character gets +1 DEF. <p> If equipped character would become stunned, you may KO this card instead. If you do, the character is not stunned."
No. Just stun, the BEL still goes through. I actually think this card is horible for 2 resources. I am not saying it is useless, just that I would not often use it. Unstable for +3 defense is often enough to cause most of the same attacks from doing a Stun anyway. And for 1 Resource the PFF is a +3 with no BEL at all.
^^^^ true, so true. I mean, the thought of using Kevlar on someone like Nimrod is extremely juicy, but no team outside of a FF gear deck can afford it. And even then, FF can just play multiple Molecules for free, AND draw cards for doing so!
(as you can tell I hate Molecules + Salvage + ARB)
lol yea he really hates them : ) i'll pop my molecules play another equipment on my character or even salvage my molecules play for free draw a card another equipment pop the molecules play equipment draw a card add nausium
your worried about finishing move, and you play a FF deck, wheres yancy street? your stun characters cannot be the targeted. and if you play thing.. well there you go
