There's always a great deal of debate about which deck concepts are really tier one. I think in some cases the tournament top eight listings can skew the perception of the 'top' decks, especially if the turn-out is relatively low.
Here's my thoughts about what decks are truly Tier One tournament worthy. I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on this, especially if I've missed some...
Tier One
- New Brotherhood (Feral/Savage)
- Big Brotherhood (Magneto)
- Fantastic Four Toys/Beatdown (Heavy Hitter)
- Doom Beatdown (Sub-Mariner)
- Doom Gamma Bomb (LoL)
Really Close
Little Sentinel Swarm (Wild/Mark IV)
Big Sentinel Swarm (Master Mold)
IMO, there are no such thing as tiers in this game simply because everything has the potential. That being said, the most successful and most popular decks to date are:
Doomabomber
Big Brother (Lost City/Avalon SS)
Doom/FF Beats or straight FF beats.
Lost Brotherhood is retarded, better than tier one imo...there isn't really a deck right now that can match up on power and consistency
Doom/FF, FF, doom are tier one decks imo cause they are quite consistent and versatile

That's a nice thought, but I don't think anyone could truly argue that an x-men beatdown or weenie swarm deck is really tournament worthy, assuming all players participating have the same skill levels.
I'd love to have someone tell me that I'm wrong, though.
Man, i'm sure DC will have it's busted teams and elements but as of rite now there's no argument that lost BH is dumb...i hope they restrict something! frig...
spider/x-men decks work really well. i have one but not enough of the cards that i need to make it really great. i found that Black cat, overpowered, 5 cost Prof X. you can deck your opponent of a lot of there cards.
sorry to break the bubble sir but there is no way, as of rite now, spidey can be tier one...even with teh help of the childrens of the atom
And decking is not a great tactic cause it'll take 7-8 turns to deck them and by that time u should be laying dead on teh floor....with ur eyes squashed and eyes skewered on a grill on a hot sunny day such as this crappy rainy day....
I think the metagame is pretty healthy right now, Brotherhood New/Lost Brothers, FF bumper cars or beatdown, and Doom. TNB has a slight edge on doom, and FF with entangle has a edge on The Brotherhood, I don't use the word slight here lol.

I dunno about the whole eye squashing, but, I do know that SpideX and SSDoom are very strong builds.
They can take advantage of discard tactics which is something new for this game. The discard approach is far more stable in these two builds. They don't have to go for decking. They just disrupt the heck out of everything else.
SSDoom stuns, KOs, and discards you to death and then runs over you when you have nobody else left to defend with.
SpideX team attacks with characters that can't be stunned and then plays agressive on defense while gaining endurance. All the time forcing discard and plinking away at your opponenets life
DC will change everything, but right now there are still some rogue decks that are very good just not heavily played due to lack of consistancy.....like the one I'll take to Reno if I can make it.
I think non-affiliated decks will start getting much stonger. Low curve beats is where it's at for the n/a. They'll start whoring out some of the item and action fetchers that are abuseable and probably make a good showing sometime soon.
Konfecious i never said i was trying to deck my opponent. the fact that they lose 5 cards from there deck, is very helpful. i mean what if they lost some very viable cards that would of help them out. even if they didn'y lose great cards the fact that losing 5 cards affects them greatly.

I will post my X-Men/Spidey deck here soon, tournament this coming Saturday here in the Philippines so I won't post it yet and yes I'm consistently beating the decks that are currently listed as "TIER ONE TYPES".

I have to say Fullbleed does have a good Spidey/X-men Configuration. I've seen his deck go against TNBs, FF/Doom, Sentinels and Big Bro decks and he has won those matches pretty consistently. Out of those decks, its with the Big Bro variants he's having some slight problems with. Other than that, the deck pretty much breezes through the field.
Of course, this has to be tested first in the tourney scene here in Manila, Philippines. We'll see if the deck holds up to the challenge. :)
