Just how good is No Fear? I see it making its way into every deck that hits the ground running (TNB, unstunnable Weenie X-Men, Spidey decks). Its versitility is key. But I don't see where I would make room for it in decks. Maybe replace my Acro Dodges or something. Not sure. Any thoughts?
Well, that's kinda the point, no? It gets you extra pumps that you couldn't get before. I'm not a very big fan of Nasty Surprise (I'd rather run Acro Dodge and not get stunned at all), but No Fear seems like it might have quite a bit of potential with its versatility.
I tried running it in my X-Men deck, and just didn't find it as useful as a good ol' Flying Kick. Sure, you can use it on defense as well as offense, but how many people play Nasty Surprise anyway? I could maybe see it being useful in a TNB deck, where you want to stun as many characters as possible, but other than that, you usually prefer to keep your character alive, rather than trading stuns. And of course, it just feeds a possible Overload.
I certainly wouldn't play it instead of Flying Kick, but in addition to it. I think their might be room for it in certain decks (definately TNB/ Sent decks... plenty of smaller figures for it to work with). I doubt it would work in much but that (definately not X-Men, Doom, FF... I dunno about Hybrids). Just extra power ups to do some more serious damage.
And the Overload thing doesn't worry me. Every pump makes someone Overload bait...
I absolutely love this card in my TNB deck, although not in any of my other decks. The problem with TNB is that you are most likely going to always have lower cost level charcters then your opponent, so a little added attack doesn't hurt... much.
Originally posted by ObsidianKnight if you play with 4 flying kicks try replacing 2 of them with 2 no fears it works ok for me. this way you have the best of both worlds.
You also have %50 of both said worlds, my studious liege.
mebbe you are one of those "less is more" ppl tho.
Let's not forget the stipulation about the opponent's character having to be a higher cost than yours. Not only is it not as powerful as the two separate cards (Flying Kick and Nasty Surprise), it's also more situational.
It's definately versatile, which gives it some merit. Overall though, I don't see why this card is so great.
Originally posted by ObsidianKnight nope just ready for all situations. and when i dont have the gear i make do and improvise.
nope, because you're less likely to draw either of them. What you say would be true if you drew your entire deck per game, but you will usually only go through 1/3rd of it. Unless you can tutor for your PTs (hello Boris), having 2 and 2 is VERY inconsistant. Playing 4 of one PT is almost always better than playing 2 of two different PTs.
