In the long run you better buying Boxes as you save money. On the other hand if you only missing a few cards then you should buy singles. Unless your just a casual layers I wouldn't suggest boosters.
If you have enough money, get a box.
You get more chances of getting better cards and you can draft with some friends.
If you don't have enough money, I would save up to get a box.
i got a box and like 50-60 packs so far and i only spent about 50 dollars on marvel i got all those cards because i was really good at yugioh i mayed top 8 in it a lot so i had lots of cards to trade with the store so i traded most of my yugioh cards for all those packs.
but i would say u should buy a box because u will probally get lots of good cards anyway
I don't know.. I'm not heavily into spending my precious dough on cardboard with ink.. So I would say Boosters.. save your money now, you might make it in time for the DC thing ;P Sure.. card games are investments to the future.. but, you never know.. just look at pokemon.. you can buy a charizard for like.. 5 cents now.. where as, a looong time ago.. they were like.. 20 on... -shrug- or you could not listen to me ;P
Boxes.. If you don't have enough, save up for one.. Hands down boxes though..
They're not expensive at all.., and your saving money, and most likley getting the cards you need for a certain deck. And if not you'll end up with some nice tradebait.
Like Marvel for my friends (i never had enough to get a marvel box, but i've preordered about 3 dc boxes), average about 1 savage beatdown a box.. Which is quite nice for trade bait.
I would say boxes for sure, online that is. Usually packs are $3-4 a pack, which is total to about $72-96? a box. Online you can find booster boxes for around $57-60. That's like 2.40-2.50 a pack, saving you around $15-34.
Boxes. Take advantage of collation mistakes instead of being the victim of them. Buying a box, you get all the packs that come with 2+ rares while pack by pack you never know. I have opened 7 boxes of 1st edition Marvel Origins and have 5 boxes of DC Origins on the way with many more in planning - save the money and get more cards. That is what it comes down to.
I have heard some real horror stories regarding boxes. Such as out of one box a fellow I know got stuck with 10 Rare Betrayal. So, who knows it's all based on luck.
I plan on just going from store to store buying 12 booster packs from each until I have bought the equivelant of two booster boxes.:knockedou
