I did everything Fatyl said while installing, and i selected the empty.mdb, but when I try to play it after I open it, it gives me this error message...

"Can't open MTG interactive encyclopedia database 'file's location'
Error 429: ActiveX component can't create object (MTGPlay)"

I dunno if this has happened before, but I installed the patch, and retried it a few times, but it still comes up with this...

Any help is very greatfully appreciated!

Did you install the latest .NET and the MDE upgrades? Those are necessary before the program will run.

What OS? If it's Win 98/ME, you may need to download the additional patch listed in the MTGPlay download thread.

The other patches mentioned above can be downloaded from links in the VSEd download post.

It's Win98, and I did download and install the patch listed on the MTGPlay download thread... That's why it's soo confusing...

You might need the MDAC also, but .NET doesn't affect MTGPlay.

OMG, thanks Fatal and Mrgame! The patch worked! Now, hopefully, I can keep it working throughout the rest of the downloaads...

BTW, quick question... Is the actual playing field supposed to take up the whole screen? Or, is my screen resolution just off...

I'm not sure what you mean by taking up the whole screen...

It always defaults to Full Screen mode, and that's where you'll probably want to keep it. The actual resolution you play at is determined by the lowest desktop resolution of the players connected. I've found that even if your virtual resolution is set to 1280, if your desktop resolution is set at less than that it will be a tiny play area. People running 800x600 as their default resolution will just barely have enough room for a long game.
