The only problem I see with VS is all the team affiliations. With Magic if you leave the game for a minute, you still have the good ol' five colors when you return, but with VS you leave and you'll be swamped with the new team affiliations.
Ya know I keep hearing about the "10 years of cards planned" and I think that's an urban myth.
Anyone working on games knows that the environment is constantly changing and is unpredictable at best.
I think its a great idea to have an idea where you're going, a MUST actually, but 10 years.
I always laugh when I read that.
The game is becoming THE most popular card game in our area, and I would think it will continue to grow.
Ithink they can have a ten year plan as far as what teams they want to release. if the game continues to change it would be the style of the cards and the new combos and abilities that are affected. The plan they have I think refers to the order that they want to release teams only. I agree you could never plan ten years worth of sets with this buisness. Not unless you have an old guy with a fu-man-chu style beard working in the basement writing on parchment and having visions every week.;)
Hey, MTG is almost eleven years old.
If you told me 11 years ago that magic would last that long I wouldn't believe you.
I feel the same is true for VS.
At my local card shop, its an "everything but Magic sucks" environment. The fact that its getting more and more popular there every week gives me great hope! Its an excellent game that deserves a long life.
