So far in my area, we are trying to decide if we should take the plunge and mix sets. My question is on feelings of other areas where the gaming crowd is prolly a lot larger then here atm. We have no problem battling one universe against the other, but should they really be using resources from the other universes set?
Your feeling please.
We know that some sick decks will come from mixing the sets, and there are a lot of cards that are similar in nature without mixing to begin with.
Also, atm there are no events here for the game as well, in other areas, are they running pure decks or mixed for events? Or, Are they running both types?
One of the main reasons I ventured into the VS universe was the chance to build cross-promotion decks. However, I think there are far more "Loyalty" cards in DOR, than we saw in MOR. This obviously effect your chances of building succesful cross-team decks regardless of the universe they are from.
To balance, we have Marvel Team Up and Worlds Finest - giving you the chance to run 8 cross-universe team up cards - but do you really want to use all those plot twist slots on team ups when you coulb be running fizzles, savage, have a blast etc? It is an interesting choice and has been very well put together by UDE.
I tried it and had amazing success with an X-Men/Titans build. The large amount of unstunnable characters was to tempting. I am definitely all for combining both sets to make single decks.
DC becomes constructed legal August 1st. I expect the best decks to be a mix of cards from both sets. This doesn't mean two or more teams, just some cards used from both Marvel and DC.
It might mean a Marvel team and a DC team work very well together. You just have to test and find out.
