Alright, this one was asked to me a few days ago and i'm not quite sure on it.
Player A and Player B are both running New Brotherhood and wants to keep their resources at 4 or less.
It is turn 5. Both players have 5 resources in play and both have 2 new brotherhoods up. (not active at 5 resources)
Player B declares an attack against player A. Player A activates Genosha so his new brotherhoods will go back into effect.
Player B wishes to chain his FD kaboom against genosha to lower his resources as well.
So genosha is knocked out before kaboom can destroy it. What happens to kaboom? Since you choose what location to knock out at resolve would that mean player B would have to destroy a different location? What if the only other location up is one of his own? What if there is no other location up at all? Does kaboom go to the KO pile even though it didn't knock anything out?
Player B cannot target Player A's Genosha since part of the cost is to KO it.
If Player B targeted Player A's Genosha *before* Player A activated it, Ka-Boom would be negated upon resolution (target location would no longer be legal) and just stay in the Player B's resource row.
Ka-Boom! was illegaly generated, unless one of the Players had another Location face-up at the time. When Player A activates Genosha and KO's it for cost, Player B cannot chain Ka-Boom! and target Genosha as it is no longer on the board.
If there was another Location face-up at the time Ka-Boom! was generated, then Player B would be forced to target it, even if it was their own.

Not true. If they announced the Ka-Boom! targeting Genosha illegally, they would back up to just before the illegal action occurred. They would not have to target their own location with the Ka-Boom!, tho they certainly could choose to do so if they wish.

{EDIT} we are in agreeance...that is what i meant, i was only refering to IF Player B still wished to use Ka-Boom!, there would have to be legal target, even it was their own.
