DC introduced several new cards that let you spend resource points for things other than recruiting characters (Red Star, Optitron, Oracle, etc..).
Up until now, the big concern has always been 'hitting your drops' on every turn so that you dont fall behind and end up getting swamped by larger characters.
Is it worth using these resource point abilities to 'blow your curve'?
The only situation I could see doing it is when you don't have the drop in your hand and don't want to 'lose' the resource point.
But why would you put in a card just in case you miss your curve?
i use mad hatter.....and he comes in handy quite often. In fact....sometimes I have not played 4 or 5 drops I had in my hand on the right turn becuase I wanted to use his ability....its not just in case you miss the curve....some situations wil benefit enough from their effects
For the same reason they added Boost: more options. Mainly you use such abilities when you miss your drop, but not ALWAYS. Some decks are built around using those powers.
I think it's more of a bonus in case you DO miss a drop. Oracle is great, but I wouldn't intentionally miss drops just to draw cards--however, if I miss a drop, it's nice to be able to use it somehow, in Oracle's case, drawing a card.
