Alright everyone, I wanted to check on this as I sometimes do it to entertain myself.
So I was playing at a local tournament, my testing stage Heroes United versus a standard built Common Enemy. Late game he drops an Apocalypse. Combat phase: I lightly say "I got these 3 face down resources right here," taking his attention away from my two team-up cards. He bites and takes out 2 face down characters (I laugh my A$$ off since he is kinda a friend of mine and he totally took it) instead of the two team-ups. In a larger tournament environment is there anything wrong with stating obvious things like when I pointed out my 3 face down resources?
Well it's not like you shouted 'Look it's Superman!' and when he looked the other direction you switched all the cards around, so i say there's really no problem since he was the one who didn't pay attention.
As long as you don't stall in doing it, it is generally fine. Just keep in mind that once he declares a target, that's pretty much it and you can't try to sway him at that point (which would be pretty obvious anyways).
No differrent than flipping a lost city, and then grabbing another resource as you as if they have a response or not. You sometimes send a message that you have another one for a back up and tempt them to 'waste' a Kaboom or Have A Blast. There are many times you do subtle things like this. You never present any false information, but you can put on a certain face if you will. If people are going to let anything about your posture or gestures influence their play, then you can take advantage of it.
My general rule is that the player doesn't exist. This is much like poker, but many people can disguise a poker face. And you don't normally play them long enough to determine what their true tells are. In local tourneys I can read msot of my regulars like a book... but in a big tourney with new faces you have to play by the board alone.
