Been out of it for a long while. What I need to know are the good decks and such. Heard there was a new set coming about as well. In any case.
-Good decks
-Ratio.... How many drops...plot twist...locations should I use
-Staples.... if there are any
-Speed... is it an important factor in this game as well?
-I think it was another one, but I can't think of it right now.
good decks- titans, arkham has potential,f4, new brotherhood, league is good but hard to work with, and common enemy seems to be doing good for now.
ratio-depends on deck type
staples-kaboom,savage,and have a blast are nearly staples
speed-you need to be fast enough to win within a 40-60 min. time frame dependeing on shop/tourney

Okay. Lets say I was building a Brotherhood or a Doom deck. What kind of ratio would you suggest?
I'm looking at this apprentice patch and I'm not seeing these names you said were staples. What set are they in?
Good decks: Well, I guess the easiest way to find good decks, would be to head on over to metagame. com and check out the Top 8 deck lists for the first Pro Circuit. Just go to the Archives section of the VS portion and look for coverage of the Indy Pro Circuit. It's not too hard to find.
Ratio: Basically the standard is about half and half. Around 30 characters, and 30 PT's/Locations/Equips. If you are playing all the way through a curve, you'd want 4 one drops, 6 two drops, 6 three drops, and 4 of each four and five drops, around 2 six drops, and one of any drop after that. That's very generic though and is completely dependant on deck type.
Staples: There aren't any, simple as that. Some cards see more play than others, but no clear "staple" cards exist. The closest would be Savage Beatdown and Have A Blast!. Nothing else can fit into any deck type as consistantly.
Speed: Depends on your deck. Some like to stall, some like to rush. Though in a tourny there are time limits, so make sure you keep them in mind. It's usually about an hour per best of 3 match.
Sets: The only sets are Marvel Origins, DC Origins, and Web Of Spider-Man. If you click on the "Cardlist" link at the top of the VS Realms forums, there is a VERY useful search system that will allow you to find any card you need easily.
@ Zero: Thank you. I needed that ratio answered really badly since I didn't really know where to start.
The reason I asked if there were any staples was because I came from the Yugioh game (I think they had some in MTG.. not sure though), and there "so called" staples were pretty much game breaking. Just wondering if they had some in this game as well.
One more question. Are there any restrictions I should know about before I go throwing a whole bunch of cards in a deck? Been searching VSuniverse, but I haven't really had to the time to actually read.....
No restrictions as of yet, (aside from a maximum of 4 non-army cards in any deck - you can play as many army characters as you desire). Minimum deck size of 60.
So far there are very few cards that are so good that I could ever see them becoming restricted. For the time being I wouldn't worry about it.
Burn - Is in this game but it is not as consistent as in YGO and is 50/50 on popularity.
Rush - There are basically 3 consistent, and popular rushes. TNB, TT and SS.
Control - Doom, CE, LoA, My Beloved. CE and Doom are your best bet but rather popular right now and I don't know the winning ratio on the mirror matches so maybe My Beloved.
Beatdown - Everybody knows it's F4 and BBH. Plain and simple. SMACK!
