While the wording is fine, I do agree that for clarity's sake it should have stated that X-Men get an additional +1 for Aerial Supremacy in the same way that it is mentioned that Sinister Syndicate get an additional +1 for Hired Goons.
Aerial Supremacy
Plot Twist, Threshold 1
Ongoing: Characters with flight you control get +1 DEF while defending against characters without flight or range.
X-Men characters with flight you control get +1 DEF
while defending against characters without flight or range.
Aerial Supremacy refers to a character without either flight or range, not “a character
without flight or a character without range.”
So if an attacker doesn't have BOTH Flight and Range, the non-xmen defender gets +1 and an Xmen defender would get +2.
no. if the attacker has flight OR range, there is no +1 defence
the word and is an inclusive term meaning the character would have to have both. saying the word or means that they must have one of the two mentioned in order to not be affected by this card.
in short hand
"You get to buy 5 more packs of VS if you do your homework AND clean your room" means you need to do both prerequisites in order to get the bouns
"You get to buy 5 more packs of VS if you do your homework OR clean your room" means you need to do one or the other.
and x-men get both bonuses. The second line just adds on to the ongoing effect.
just think of it this way.....
somebody with a gun will still hit u if u are in the air.
someone that can fly can still attack u coz they can reach you.....
how can u hit somebody if u cant fly and or throw stuff at them? thats what u call aerial supremacy
GDE you are correct...if the attacker has only flight you get no bonus, if siad attacker has only range you still get no bonus, if this attacker manages to have both range and flight you really dont get it.
the card looks for flight OR range on the attacker and if it "Finds" either, then no bonus is granted. much like with the new archangle. his power looks for flight or range on the defender. if it finds flight...or range then archangle can be stunned by the defender.
