I think this has been touched but I can't find it so help me out.
It turn six and my build phase because I have init.. I drop Starfire onto the field and immediately go for the stun of my opponents support row character that has been a nuisance the past few turns. (Yes I had enough TT to stun). My opponent says that I can't because he doesn't have a support row or front row and I say that he does. My understanding of not having one only applies during your beuild step when you have init.... When you do not have init and/or you have not entered your build phase then you still have a front and back row. Please clarify if I am wrong on this because I want to understand this substep of a turn....
Turn two my opponent plays Pyro and I drop Puppet Master on my build and activate him. Can my opponent chain to his effect. I can see why you would be able to but I was once told that you could not exhaust and already exhausted charcter and that would prevent the chain so just clear this one up as well.
If my opponent is playing common enemy and is teamed up and tries to signal flare but unfortunately he only has Doom characters in his hand and I chain Have a Blast to the Team Up and he doesn't have another set does he burn the Flare because he no longer has a FF character to discard....?
There is only the beginning of one combat phase so my question is if we both have Silver Surfer out how many times are we allowed to discard for his effect in an attempt to steal init...... Is it only once that I can attemot to steal or can I attempt to steal and then you attempt to take it back and then I toss another FF character to steal and then it becomes a battle of who has the most FF characers?
Last question: My opponent declares an attack on a Front row character and his character has no flight or range and he doesn't have anything that give that character flight for the turn and activate I Burn Rubber and move the character to the support row behind another one of my characters.. Is his attack made illegal at that point since I moved the character and he readies for another attack with the same character or do I just prevent breathrough and move the character to my support row and his attack is wasted. What happens to the attacker and defender in this situation?
Thanks in advance for all of the help that I assume I'm about to receive on these.... 2 WEEKS AND COUNTING UNTIL WIZARD WORLD.... I hope to see some of you there. Just look for a group of people representing TEAM JJK....

You lost me with answer three...They still get the search from Signal Flare but what if they go and fetch a six drop doom or Submariner or something...They don't get to keep do they? I mean all they could do is grab a FF character and then discard to fulfill the requirements of the card because nothing else in their hand is FF.
Burn Rubber says "Target character you control is reinforced this turn. You may move that character to your front Row or your support Row."
So I have to not accept the attack and move my character at that time. What happens if I accept the attack and move my charcter anyways according to the card I can do that. You're saying that the attack can no longer be made illegal so if they exhaust and gain the attacker status then no matter what I do after that the attack is going to go thru. That doesn't make sense since I moved the character. I figured that this was one of the cards that was exception to the rule since it could actually make an attack illegal even after an attack has been accepted. So by your answer, You would attack I would accept, I would play Burn Rubber and move my character to the support row behind another character and then my character that I moved would become stunned from the attack but without any BEL....
O.k. is response to your answer on question two... Since we all have to respond then that means that if I have mimic, Rogue PA and puppet master on the field and you attempt to use the 7 drop Spiderman's effect then I have a chance to respond, if we are at the start of the attack phase, by exhausting three of your characters in return. That is how it works right? Just because you discarded and targeted my characters does not mean that the effect is instant and that I have can still respond. However if you do this move during your build phase or mine then I could only target one of your characters since Rogue PA and Mimic don't copy an effect until the beginning of the attack phase.
For number 3 he was simply saying that Signal Flare isn't stopped completely. They can still search for a FF character, Doom or Sub-Mariner would not be legal characters to search for. After they've searched, they then have to discard a FF character. If the only one they have is the one they just searched for so be it. Discard it.
For the Burn Rubber questions there are two possible outcomes and Zaxx explained it. If you use it before the attack becomes legal (before the proposed attacker exhausts) then the attack would not proceed becuase at the legality check it would see that the proposed attacker cannot reach the proposed defender. The proposed attacker would never have exhausted and the attack stops.
If however you wait for the attack to be pronounced legal (the attacker exhausts) playing Burn Rubber and moving the defender will not stop the attack from completing. The ATK/DEF values get compared, resolution of the attack will happen. No breakthrough will be applied.

This is a similiar situation I was wondering about. If I use Alfred's activated power, am I still able to get a Plot Twist or Equipment if my opponent blows up my team-up card (World's Finest) with Have a Blast? The only other character I had in play after my team-up card was blown up was a non-Gotham Knight's character. My argument was that at the time i activated Alfred's power, I was able to meet the requirements because I had another GK in play. And according to the comprehensive rules, that once an activated power has been used it is seperate from the character and the only thing that can stop it is a "negate" card like Utility Belts, etc. I agree the Have a Blast destroys my World's Finest, but alfred's ability should still have gotten through right?
Another question, if an attacker somehow readies during the attack after he has exhausted with either Xavier's School or Speed Demon's ability, are "readied" attacker's who have already entered the "attack sub-step" still able to attack or if they get readied after they have exhausted but before the attack has resolved no longer considered an attacker?
I knew it! Now to convince my local UDE tourny judge.
And thanks for confirming the ready attacker question too. It never fails, you look and look for answers AND then you post the question only to find it in the next thread you read. Thanks again.
