I'm not sure what else
I ended up taking 6th, with the B&B deck taking 1st. Top 4 was B&B, 2 CE, and the FF Equip. The decklists should be up at www.professional-events.com sometime soon.
Ah so the B&B guy won, cool. He deserved it. My first match I didn't have a character to play until turn four, in which I only saw Dagger (I was the Solitaire guy). Other matches saw similar bad luck, but it was good fun. Bad draws and one bad play put me in like 11th for the day, horrible performance on my part, but oh well. I did notice though that you missed the League of Assassins deck, I think it went last or very close to last. It was mono League though. Other than that I think you hit them all.
hey, this is Chase (the B&B player). i wasn't expecting to win, but look how things turned out. i went 4-1 then cut to top 4. i played Common Enemy and went 2-1 b/c of a misplay in my second game. then i played the FF equip guy in the finals and won 2-0. he was the same player that gave me my only lose in the previous round, so it felt good to get my revenge
Glad to see that you won, I was rooting for you (damn Common Enemy people). I got a lot of bad matchups, but I'll do your deck justice next time Billy ;) I'm trying to tweak it as I type this to take care of the bad matchups a little better, but it's so good already that I'm finding it hard to alter. Of course if I'd have played the FF Equip or the Common Enemy decks, you would have played me in those finals, but that's alright heh. I'm just whining about my poor performance. And to Ludin, you should feel lucky that you have such large showings. I'd love to have a bigger player base around my area and having 8 rounds of Swiss before cutting to Top 8 would have actually helped me out a ton. I only got to play 4 matches, and went 2-2 because Curve Sentinels completely shut my deck down (damn Sentinel Mark II and his anti-activated powers). The good thing is that a lot of PCQs are springing up in the area now, and we're even getting a non-GenCon $10k in Colombus. Maybe next year I can bring the best deck in VS to the Pro Circuit. I love the deck, what can I say, I love to play with myself.
yeah, our player base here in ohio is pretty dismal. none of the players from London Howling Wolf came out (there's like 8 there I think) and only Tony, his friend (whose name I don't remember right now), and I were the only ones from the Dayton Hobby League group to come out (we usually have 8 people play there every Friday).
Solitaire is just a really annoying deck to play against (I had the TTGo in the 2nd round). If only I had drawn my Finishing Moves... I was planning on playing Rigged Elections, but I guess those two CE that made top 8 would have owned me anyways.

lol, u bastard! actually the real mistake was me not exhausting my two 1 drops to flip Dynamic Duo in response to him flipping Common Enemy. but yes... i did NEED Mirage back. ah well:p
hey all, i was the one that played the gk/f5. i believe i came in 5th overall and the only horrible match i had was the common enemy game where i didn't even hit my 2 drop. so, yeah, i knew right then that i was going to loose that match. but over all i had quite a bit fun and will test my deck out some more on the 4th in indy.

That was a fun match we had, BIG chains. I got lucky on that one since you got pretty terrible draws, even with Argus. How did you end up finishing for the day?
Well, after the initial first two losses (to Curve Sentinels and to you), I took down the Longshot deck (he hit Spiderman/Human Torch once during the match), then took down the TNB (I think the build was solid; the guy just made mistakes, like saying 'Flying Kick' when laying down a resource). X-Men was the last match, which was kind of surprising, seeing how the player didn't understand the whole 'passing on the chain' thing. I ended 3-2, but without getting paired up in the last round, the best I could get was 6th.
where do you guys play at? I might make a trip down there sometime during my December break
I play with friends mainly. Sometimes there is a tourny at a local shop called Comic Book World, but it's usually a once a month type thing, but around 4-6 of us get together and play VS at the weekly YGO tournaments. Hopefully a hobby league will pop up around here somewhere. So far I haven't seen anything about a hobby league around the Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati area. I'll be going to both PCQ's at Acme Games in the beginning of next year and probably the $10K at Colombus, I'll probably see you guys at one of those. If you know of anywhere around the area that has a hobby league let me know, I'd love to play in one.
Heya ZT congrats on playing solitare! BillyZ is right, that deck rocks! anywho, keep me informed on the ohio events, i have family in ceadarville (not sure if i spelled that right) and i could always use the excuse to go visit them, and then well maybe hit a PCQ or something too.
As dismal as it may seem 15 people is still 14 more than i have available here. anywho enough of my bishing i will go get ready for class :)
lbx!
Well there's a PCQ January 30 in Cincinnati, and another on March 5. Then we have a $10k in Colombus on Feb. 12-13. I'm not sure how far Cedarville is from those places, but it'd always be nice to have more players show up. I'm sure the $10k will see a LOT more players then were used to around here, but that's what happens when $10k is up for grabs. I still don't think we'll see as many as those East and West coast $10k's see though. I'm still searching for a hobby league me and my friends can play at around my area (within 30min.) but still haven't found anything. Hopefully someone can help me out with that.
P.S. You should probably check the dates I listed on UDE's website, I'm pretty sure they are right but I'm going off of memory.
