Card Text:
Play Anti-Life Equation only if you control a Darkseid's Elite character.
Ongoing: At the start of the recovery phase, starting with you, each player chooses a different number. The player who chose the highest number loses that much endurance. Each other player gains that much endurance and stuns a non-stunned character he controls.
I'm a moderate level player and pulled two of these from packs.I seem to pull it in every game, but rarely use it.A part of this is I don't understand when to use it.Can anyone make any reccomendations as of how to use it or not to use it?
Cfbrunner wrote a great article on Anti-Life in the News/Articles section. I've played it at times. You just need to make sure you are willing to take the END burn that you are offering and be aware of the entire board situation so you can intelligently pick your numbers. It is tricky, but very fun.
fact is, you need to have other support cards with you in order to effectively screw with your opponents head.
the numbers are hard enough when there is nothing behind it. when there is a threat of an Omega Beams or ride of the Black Racer, your opponent will DEFINITELY think twice about whether he pays the life or not.
Can someone hit me witht he link. I printed the original article, but it got thrown out at team central and i'm jonseing to build that Anti-Life board control deck (and I don't want to do the math again)
Antilife Equation is probably the best scare tactic card in the game. It was clearly the most complicated card ever made so that alone should give your opponent something to fear.
I remember in testing once i flipped three of them on turn 5 and my opponent was mortified. Its never really won me any games, but it has completely terrified my opponent on more then one occasion.
If anyone could ever master that card they would be the most feared person in the game. Very VERY difficult to use though, especially in multiples.
Last Stand is good against X-Statix [IMO]. I thought it was pretty kool, but it involved too much math and thinking for my likeing. I guess that's why it's equation. Some math VS player could try to come up with an actual equation and know what number to always pick to get the maximum benifit. i would, but i hate math. Scince rocks though, that's the exception.
Anti-Life Equation is one of the missing tools to a DE swarm/rush deck. It punishes most the player whose smallest non-stunned character is substantially larger than their opponent's. So if you can run about with a bunch of characters with a really low cost, you can force your opponent to give you an effective free attack or just give you a big hunk of endurance.
You pick half the cost of your character rounded up. That way, your opponent doesn't get too much END back, and if your opponent REALLY wants the stun, then the stun barely hurts you END wise.
