Okay the Blob errata says he now has to be in the "visible" front row to protect the brotherhood characters in the support row so does this mean that if he's in the hidden area he's useless? that if he's in the visible front row his text does not protect any brotherhood chracters in the hidden back row?
Yes he's useless in the hidden area. Hidden area characters CANNOT BLOCK. So if you have blob in your visable he protects visable area support row characters only.
You can have 100 characters in your hidden area and not one of them can block attackers.
Now the errata clearly states his power. Before the errata yes. But the hidden area is now defined as a totally seperate area of play.
Just to clarify, although Blob's power cannot be used while he is hidden, his power does extend protection to hidden characters in the support row while Blob is visible and in the front row.
Since there are effects that will allow characters to be attacked in the hidden area, Blob still protects them as long as they are in the support row.

Hope that helps.

While Blob is visible and in your front row, support row Brotherhood characters you control cannot be attacked.
First of all, when you say "cannot block," I assume you mean cannot be attacked or cannot become a defender. In general, this is true, but there are several cards that make it so they can be attacked. This leads to my question.
If Blob is in the front row of your visible area, why can Brotherhood characters in the support row of your hidden area be attacked? This is of course with the help of another effect.
You say that Blob's ability only applies to visible support row Brotherhood characters. I say it also applies to hidden support row Brotherhood characters. Granted, they normally cannot be attacked anyway. I think Blob's new wording will protect support row Brotherhood characters in the hidden area from effects like the Luke Cage 4drop.
Blob has to be in the front row of your visible area to generate his effect, but his effect does not seem limited to the visible area. His text does not say "While Blob is visible and in your front row, VISIBLE support row Brotherhood characters you control cannot be attacked."

You know what Bob I think your right. Yes thats what I meant that they cannot defend or be attacked UNLESS there is a card that changes that,
Taking Blobs errata to the exact word I guess he can protect hidden support row BH. Only reason I say no is that the explanation of the hidden area states that it is seperate from visable area. But I guess that also would have been errata for Blob.
