three questions...

1) its my attack step, i play the demon's head, my opponent sources the demon's head... do i still get to search for the location but only get to keep it in hand or does it negate demon's head completely since it is not in the resource row anymore?

2) i play the demon's head during my opponent's attack phase, he plays fizzle, i play tower of babel... have i just negated his fizzle... you know, fizzled his fizzle...haha...

3) i play the demon's head, he plays the source and targets my demon's head, i flip over have a blast... have i destroyed his source before he can KO the source and destroy all my demon's heads?

1) yes i get the location but it doesn't go into resource row
2) i negated his fizzle unless he fizzle's me again
3) yes, no more source so demon's head plays normally...
those are my guesses anyways...

1. No effect for The Demon's Head
2. No. First TOB does not effect Character Cards. Secondly the effect has already gone on the chain. You cannot prevent him having already paid the cost.
3. No. The effect is interdependent of the Source(Not the card). This means that you cannot stop the Effect by getting rid of the Source.
So everything you wanted is wrong. You cannot stop Fizzle without Fizzle. If you want to stop the Source use Global Domination. Otherwise nothing you can do.

1) demon's head plays through and goes into my resource row?
2) my bad, i read the card wrong... i thought it had to be played by a GK character... so if i took away affiliations there would be no GK characters on the field to play fizzle... but that isn't the case...
3) i can't have a blast or kaboom the source... man, the source is whack...

1. No. Demon's Head is not in the Resource row when the effect resolves so you ignore the effect. Nothing happens. This is to stop from abusing Firefly or Asmodeus or Typhoid Mary. If you KO Demon's Head with the effect a Location would come back anyway. So you gained Resource advantage. So they wrote it that way.

1) Yes you still get the search effect of Demon Head although I am uncertain as to whether or not you get to play it since the Demon Head was Sourced and replaced.

2) Not familiar with how Tower of Babel works so can't give a good answer on this one.

3) The only way to negate the source would be to play Global Domination and then Have A Blast. In your scenario The Source would be played and it's effect would resolve and the end result would then become the same situation as question number 1 of whether or not you could replace the card or if you would have to hold it in your hand.

Once a location is flipped face up it is now in play but if it has an activated effect then it can be activated at any time there after. Also the effect generated by a location is independent of the chain.

I hope that more people will chime in and help clarify the answers for you.

Yes PhilliesMan is correct.... I had to go back and look at the cards again to see what they did. He is correct in that the Demons Head is no longer in the resource row when resolution comes around so you would ignore the effect.

"As an additional cost to play The Demon's Head, exhaust a League of Assassins character you control.

If The Demon's Head is in your resource row, KO it. If you do, search your deck for a location card, reveal it, and put it face down into your resource row. Shuffle your deck."


so what the hell... the source negates my demon's head completely?

on a side note, can i have a blast argus before terra KOs it to stun my 3 drop? he flips argus, i have a blast argus, he KOs argus in response and stuns my 3 drop, my have a blast is wasted? he KOs argus, i play have a blast in response to get to argus first, but it doesn't and my 3 drop gets creamed anyways? is this correct?

sorry if i sound like a noob... i only play casual home games with some friends and would like to know the official rulings on how things resolve rather than keep debating and guessing as to what happens... ouch, stupid source...

Yes. You wasted your have a blast. But why Have A Blast USS Argus when Terra is on the Board. You know what is going to happen. Terra will blow it up. If you did it in Response to Terra then you would have Negated Terra's Effect if they do not have another Location.

The key difference in situations like this is between costs and effects. In order to place an effect on the chain, you must pay all costs involved, and only afterwards can your opponent receive priority; you cannot interupt the paying of costs. Your opponent will receive priority, and will have a chance to play effects, before yours resolves, but the costs have been paid, and as others said, removing an effect's source does not negate the effect.

Replacing The Source is part of the cost for the Source's power; when your opponent uses The Source, it will be in the KO'd pile before you can play anything, which is why you cannot even try to Have a Blast! it in response.

Terra is interesting because KOing a location is actually part of the effect, rather than the cost---if your opponent has no locations to KO at the resolution of her effect, then she won't be able to stun anything. She has that magic "if you do" wording. (The same wording which stops you from searching for a location if The Demon's Head is not in your resource row when it's effect resolves. Since you cannot KO it, you will not have met the condition for the search.)

ToB only affects characters.

Characters are in your front and support row (not hand, Ko'ed pile, or deck).

On # 1and 3
The demon's head won't work because the it says

"If The Demon's Head is in your resource row, KO it. If you do..."

You did not do the "KOing" part so you do not get the "If you do" part. If you'll notice Ka-Boom! and Foiled will say this too.


and just to be picky, it is not "negated" it is actually resolved (but without the intentional effect).
