Tips from the Regulars: Helping those in card creation!
Well I know there are threads for strategies and the like for VS, but how about something to help those for creating cards? I'm calling out to the regulars of this forum to give there two cents on creating cool cards. As regular and I'd be happy to give out a few pointers and constructive criticism here and there.
One of the things that I look for in cards is its balance within the current game. I believe that VS is one of the most balanced card games out there and creating a balanced card is a good point in my book.
When making a card, we always want it to be that awesome cool game-breaking card. This just can't happen. You have to have balance. In creating cards, and critiquing those others have created, the most primary thing I look for is BALANCE.
I agree! But just because we strive for balance doesn't mean you can't come up with something new and not seen yet. Try it out and see what others think of it.
Another thing I place in high value is that you take pride in what you make. Sure some people might shoot it down or have suggestions for correction, but don't forget that you made that card and you are damn proud of it!
Also, have fun making cards! Not all cards have to be serious. Take this card for instance:

Game Text: When Boiler Demon attacks, return him to your hand.

Yea, it'c ompletely stupid, but it's pretty funny, yes?
You can't have everycard be game breaking, but every card can be different. I like to think of some new ways for cards to work and incorperate them into cards.
Like right now two of my favorite things are having a "Demons head" ability,so that something replaces it self with something you searched for.
that and a concept i think could work very well for VS, which is revealing cards from the top of the deck for certain effects. Like if there was a card that said "Reveal the top 5 cards of your deck, for every character gain one endurance, place the cards back in any order". Nothign Gamebreaking but different enough to be interesting.
That and except critique. Other people might see thigns you dont, so dont take it personal.
make all types of cards from Game Braking to Crappy. they all have a part in the game. dont feel the need to be resitced, go wild i mean after all these are our heros and legdens!
make a one drop Superman that needs to be paid for every turn.... [ wait dont thats my idea! :) ] make a 25drop Infinaty Gunlet. just make them and we the reguarls will help you on your way.
above all else have fun wiht it, if you dont dig it dont make it.

Oh, and when making a card, try to keep the wording and terminology as close to the current cards as possible. It;s more fitting.
When making a card think of cards already in the game, if theres an unstoppable combo chances are you need to rethink your card. Such as Mysterio. A mysterio above a 4 drop becomes pretty messed up because it can get onto the field by turn 4.
Try to create cards for characters and other things that haven't been made yet. Sure, a Batman with concealed would be very cool and fitting, but there are already 3 of him and most likely UDE will make one like that. Go for someone like Spawn (cool character, stupid stories) or Black Panther or others.
