I'm playing in a limited PCQ tomorrow, and considering i've never played VS system Limited before.(With the exception of 2 pre-releases where I did less then stellar at)
I was wondering if anyone can provide me with some good strategy and information for limited, particularly for Marvel Knights sealed. Just bad cards to play, bombs I should look out for, good teams ETC.
You will be playing sealed, so a lot of what will go down depends on what you get delt.
That said...
I find this set has a number of good one drops, so don't be afraid to sub them in instead of a two drop.
Go with the team/teams that fill your curve best. Don't splash loyal characters or team stamped plot twists (but many team stamps in this set have good effects even off team).
Team ups are your friend.
Blown to Pieces is hot.
Made men is great (flight is so good).
Hells fury is good.
And Crime and Punishment is super good.
Is it safe to go with up to 3 teams? I wouldn't be able to make many team advantages then, but like you said, I want to be able to fill my curve, but I don't really want to lose too many advatages doing it.
The most important thing is to make sure to hit your curve with as few teams as possible and take the boss plot twists as they won't come around twice. Of course, I am referring to the draft portion.
The sealed part where you start with 5 packs and make a deck out of that should be pretty easy. The curve above isn't bad unless you get a Roscoe and enough CL to support him or a Dagger to search for MS.
Limited can be tricky because one bad move (wrong formation, bad reinforce) can lose you a match, so pay attention and don't rush. Watch out for characters in the hidden area as things like Good Night Sweet Prince and Out of the Darkness can really ruin your day and cost you breakthru. And as with all these things you can do them to your opponent as well.
Just about every PT that I can think of that modifies ATK or DEF except for Supporting Role is playable. A lot of your PTs should be able to modify ATK and DEF so that you can win fights your opponent would normally get out of.
Also, if you've committed yourself to one or two teams through a couple of boosters, don't worry about splashing in a guy from another team if he'll help you a lot. Just try to avoid doing that too often.
