What is the strangest way you've ever won/survived for another turn?
This weekend at a PCQ in Kansas City, I was playing an opponent with my Spider-Evasion deck, him with an HAT deck. He had the iniative, and at the end of combat, with all my characters stunned (mostly evaded), I was down to -1 endurance. He passed to end combat, but I played Meltdown to gain 2 endurance and go on to the next turn. I then overran him the next attack to win the game.
In a pcq top 8 of sealed, I passed with both of us at -1 thinking it was going to another turn. He discarded coach to win the game. COACH I lost to COACH. Unbelievable.
In another pcq, I had a friend that ended his attack step with 0 endurance while the opponent had 2. He said I guess that's game. I pass. The opponent then declared an attack for no apparent reason. My friend said OK and played a spider senses. He didn't get stunned and the guy got stunned back and lost. Very odd. If he just says pass attacks, he would have won. Very strange indeed.
I pulled the coach & x-statix HQ combo this weekend at the PCQ, to live past turn 6 then turn 7 did Meltdown and the HQ to end the game at -4 to my opponents -6.
My favorite though was the first draft I ever played it was DOR my opponent was playing Gotham and Teen Titans I was playing Gotham and something else. Anyways he had a few cops and I think a connor kent I had 3 Gotham characters two 3 drops and a 4 drop. He stunned two of my guys and brought me down to -3 he was at 7. I had to KO both my guys to bring me back to 1. Turn 8 I have the initiative so I bring out The Demon. He had to KO his resources, lost his team up and the rest is history.

The guy was probably an idiot, he probably did not deserve to go to a PCQ. I had a similar expereince at a local tournament, After my attacks I was at -1 and he was at 1, he then had his attacks and hit me with the 5 drop DD, paying 3 to pump DD to 11, I then did a Acrobatic Dodge, me not stunning and neither did he, so he ended up with -2, even though he could have passed and won.:p
EDIT--I just found out that this was an illegal move, children, do not try this at home.
Well, I was playing my opponent online, and was getting demolished. It was my initiative turn 7, and I played a Rogue: Power Absorbtion to compliment the She-Thing i already had in play (This is TURN 7). My opponent plays a Spiderman (6 Drop). My rogue copies his Spiderman and exhausts his guys. Turn 8 I play Surfer, then used Surfer + Rogue(spiderman) To hit and run and deal enough damage that I won turn 10.

i was playing a buddy with an early version of my unafilliated deck and he was playing a ts beat deck. it was turn 5 or 6 his inititive he was at 10 and i was at like 4 or 5, he plays a boosted Alpha Centurion and exhuasts his board (a total of 4 charachters) to get the defensive bonus, and this is just to be annoying, he even said "go ahead and attack, ha ha ha". i don't remember what i played, but i had a lightning and jinx on the table for the combat phase. i actvated lighting to deal 8, then exhausted the mojoverse i had face up to jinx to deal 1, and then fliped up another mojoverse and exhausted it to jinx for 1 more. i brought him to 0 without attacking, which wouldn't have worked with his boosted defence and me not able to team attack. this just goes to show don't try to show off, it may come back to bite you.
if you have to pay x life, you must have at least x life, with cards like wild ride where it says LOSE x life you can go into the negative. You can't pay what you don't have but apparently you can lose it hehe.

I'm guessing you had gone but not forgotten? The endurance check is before you recover (or dont recover) characters so unless you had some way to send them to the ko pile other than simply not recovering, then you my friend are a cheating bastard! Shame on you hehe.
I once saw a finals in a pcq end when the life totals were low but it was going to next turn until a guy flips over granny goodness sending his opponent to exaclty 0. Oh yeah, was draft of course.
Saw another draft game end when a guy randomly flipped over an x-stat hq on turn 7 and ko'd a guy to gain enough life to make him less negative than his opponent.
I've had lots of games with tnb where a late flurry of surprise attacks and menaces keep it from going to next turn.
I once played a life gain deck where my opponent played scarecrow bouncing my entire board and then swung for 50+ .... and then we went to next turn with my life still in the teens hehe.
I boosted a Dr. Strange on my opponent's initiative, and he had more characters and life than me. I move all of my characters to my hidden area and all of his to his hidden area. He attacks me with everything, bringing me below zero(don't remember exact life totals). Then during my attack I team attack with everything and play Advanced Recon, giving me a lot of life, and I won next turn.:)
At 10k Detroit vs Sammy Gilly, I won with Red Star, Garth, Roy, and Terra, ONLY ONE RESOURCE, to his Doom (8), Apocalypse, Puppet Master, and Robot Sentry. His init.
I probably should have won turn 8, but I think I messed up. I had him down to 2 endurance to my 31 going into turn 9. I Red Star'd and took his 4 drop doom down with Roy in responce to 8 drop Doom being Recruited (shouldn't have done that). He was only able to do 36 points of damage and needed 38 for the tie.
but it was funny to see me with only 1 resource, vs 2 eight drops with nothing and still win (good thing Gamma Doom doesn't do that much damage). It also helps when he doesn't hit Boris, Gamma Bomb, or Mystic Paralysis.
