PC New York is now in full swing!! There is a swirl of action, and I will do my best to try and do updates here with standings and important tidbits.

Apparently there is a new version of EMS (New School), piloted by Jason Hager (9-3) and others, floating around. The deck contains 5?! teams (including MK, Darkseid, Doom, F5, and GK) and it is doing well. There is also a variation of Xavier's Dream piloted by Tim Batow (6-6) and some others that were also tearing it up early. Let's see how these finish out the day!

-update- That new EMS did really well, placing 2 players in the Top 10 of Day 1 as well as qualifying Hager for Day 2. Hager also used his placing and draft skills to move on to Day 3. We should get a chance to see how good that deck really is now. Batow just missed Day 2, but Michael Barnes, running an identical deck to his, placed at the very top of Day 1 standings. Well done everyone who brought new tech to shake us up!

Hilarious.

They talked about every single deck in the first PCQ given that they were all Sents. Then EMS and Force take 2 spots, and they're like "whatever". Not even talking about Force makes me sad. If Jacob hadn't won the 10k in Chicago, would people be paying more attention, or less?

I'll talk about it though:

He's running 3 Not So Fast. Mike has been trying to fit these into his build, but doesn't want to cut anything for them. Apparently, the card that Seth Allison didn't want was Pyro. That's a reasonable choice, but he'll probably see Rogue, Power Absorption with less useful things to copy, and be without a BH character in hand when he needs one, espcially since he's only running 4 team-ups.

He's also playing with only 1 Cerebro, which makes even including the card seem nearly pointless. Playing another Speedy makes sense, but another Rogue? Wtf? The number of times that a Metropolis will help you for being Rogue/Terra fodder, unable to be Foiled, and sometimes just your only team up makes cutting it impossible in my mind. In fact, Mike said he was planning on adding another. Going below 5 team ups without a way of searching (other than Longshot) is asking for trouble. Playing another Rogue increases LS's hit percentage so marginally it hardly seems worth it.

Also of note: They didn't seem to say exactly how many people were in each of these qualifiers. It's possible there's only like 10 people in each, and so these deckslists are almost meaningless.
